NEED YOUR PRAYERS ON MAKING A MAJOR DECISION!
My dear brothers and sisters are RITA:
I deeply covet your prayers on a personal situation. A couple of weeks ago, my girls and I went to a small town in Ohio to visit. My girls are 11 and 14, and both are in a school district in which I am less than thrilled. The principal is openly lesbian, and I just can't, in good conscience, send them to this school next year!
That being said:
On my way back from visiting my friend in Ohio, I had this OVERWHELMING thought that we need to move to this small town. Now, grant you, when I went to visit, I HAD NO INTENTION OF MOVING. That thought was the FARTHEST thing from my mind.
But I remember saying: "LORD, IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO COME AND MOVE US OUT OF HERE (meaning take us in the Rapture), THEN MOVE US TO ____ (the small town where I had just visited in Ohio).
SO... here's my dilemma: I WANT TO GO TO MY HEAVENLY HOME SO BADLY I CAN'T EVEN PUT IT INTO WORDS, just like most of here at RITA.
However, we would like to move our girls out of this school district before next year.
NOW, if Jesus comes for us THIS YEAR, then moving to Ohio is a moot point, right?
But it is so very hard to live like this: One foot in Heaven and the other one on this earth.
Each day we have to make decisions based on our eternal Home and not let the things of this world cloud our vision of going Home. Yet we still have to live, work and exist in the here and now.
Oh, brothers and sisters, I have never been in such a dilemma in my whole life!! I WANT TO GO TO MY HEAVENLY HOME, but I have to make decisions about my earthly home, and that seems to minor, but yet so necessary.
Please pray that I don't lose my HEAVENLY perspective, because I don't want ANYTHING to keep my eyes off Jesus. This small town in Ohio is NOTHING compared to my HEAVENLY home, and my girls will be there, too, for they will go Home in the Rapture.
I know there are others who have to make these crucial decisions. Your thoughts and prayers would be very much appreciated.
Lovingly, ysiC, Rhonda

Re: NEED YOUR PRAYERS ON MAKING A MAJOR DECISION!
Rhonda, remember that you have the mind of Christ and Gods wisdom.
When we have had to make tough decisions we say Lord I want Your perfect will more than I want what I think I want. Then pray and release it to Him and do not do anything until you have perfect peace about it, the peace that passes understanding. If you recieve this peace then everything will fall into place.
I will agree with you in prayer for Wisdom and guideance in this decision until the peace comes.

Re: NEED YOUR PRAYERS ON MAKING A MAJOR DECISION!
Rhonda,
When Jesus was leaving to go to heaven He told us to occupy until He returns. I'm sure that occupy not only means doing God's work here on earth by bringing people into God's kingdom, but to continue with our life and livelyhood here on earth to the best of our ability.
The Lord knows your heart and how much you desire to be with Him, yet He also knows you live in this present world here on earth, and must continue on until He comes.
No one but the Father in Heaven, knows EXACTLY when Jesus is going to come at the Rapture for His Bride. We can only speculate how close we really are, because of all the prophetic news surrounding us daily.
Keep your eyes on Jesus at all times; however, continue on with life on a daily basis, keeping in mind what is in the best interest for your girls and your lives.
Pray about it, and let the Lord guide your thoughts and heart in the right direction, for your good and the good of your children.
Look at it this way; should the Rapture happen this year, then all is well for you and your girls; however, should it not take place and you have arranged to be in a new school for them, then all is well too!
I hope this gives you some food for thought!
In Jesus' Love,
Valerie

Re: NEED YOUR PRAYERS ON MAKING A MAJOR DECISION!
Rhonda, I really feel for you in this. To give my input, I have friends involved in Jewish evangelism and it looks clear that the Lord is moving them to minister in a foreign city with a large Jewish population. It will mean a major shift in their lives obviously.
I wonder to myself whether they'll even get there I mean, whether the Rapture will come before! Or maybe they'll be on the plane and they'll fly a bit higher than they thought that day!
My point would be to concur with Valerie's post, that the Lord told us to occupy until He came. Your motives for that move sound entirely of the Lord to me and for the good and love of your daughters. I relate because a couple of years ago I moved from a major city to a small town for reasons very similar to the ones you describe. I can remember visiting a school too influenced by Islam and feeling literally sick to my stomach at the thought of my daughter attending that school. Likewise, you hate what the Lord hates and that is great and why He will lead you.
I KNOW it was the Lord who opened all the doors for our move from the city to a small town and it came absolutely out of the blue in the same way you describe. A year before if someone had predicted it I wouldn't have believed them!
Since your motives are pure and of the Lord, to serve Him and for the good of the children He has given you I am confident that the Lord will reveal His will to you, will open the right doors and close the wrong ones.
Even if the Rapture comes in the middle of the move, all that would mean is that you were 'occupying' as He told us by seeking His will for your lives. His ways are beyond tracing out and so far above ours as to be beyond second-guessing.
I am convinced that as you pray for Him to open and shut doors to show you His will, He will make things very clear and give you the peace that comes from knowing that He is leading you every step of the way.
with love

Rhonda,
I am in agreement with Karen, Valerie and Ditta, this is wise counsel they have given you. I also join them in prayer over you and your family. God will have you do His perfect will in His perfect time.

Re: NEED YOUR PRAYERS ON MAKING A MAJOR DECISION!
If you need a house in Delaware, Ohio. I've got 1 for sale.
Hahaha j/j
I don't know where you're from so I cannot really say this applies to you but I'm originally from NY. I moved out to OH in 2002 and I know that God had ordained this move. Everything just fell into place. 1 - 2 - 3 and we were here. It's been rough adjusting to a new place, a new house, a new church, and a new job. With that being said, I believe both my wife and I have grown in Christ as a result. I will also say that Ohioians made it a lot easier to move out here.
People out here seem to be much more friendly then where I'm from in NY. People go out of their way to help one another, or so it seems to us.
We have enjoyed our time in Ohio. If it's God's will then everything will just seem to work out. If it's not God's will then you will be miserable trying to make your own way out here.
I'll give you an example. In 2004 we tried to move back to NY to be close to family. I fought to get a job back there and finally landed one. I had to leave my wife alone for 2 months before she was able to join me up there. We had to live in our camper for 8 months through the upstate NY winter. We had ice dams on the inside of our windows (it was -10 outside at night). Our house wasn't selling. It was on the market for 8 months and had 3 showings. My job just absolutely stunk. One day I said "God, I'm sick of this. Our house back in Ohio isn't selling, I feel like we're just going through the motions out here. If you're not in this and you want us back in Ohio then send us back. Your will be done, not mine." Within 1 week I had lost my job and the day after I lost my job our in NY I was offered a job back in Ohio. It was just miracle after miracle in order to bring us back out here.
Last year my manager told me if we wanted to move back to NY and work from home that she would approve it. God is in our move back to NY. I know at the right time He will sell our house (we've had 13 showings so far and have been on the market for 5 months).
I know that He causes all things to work together for good to those that love him and are called according to his purpose.
He may want you to stay put so that you and your family can be a beacon of light to the lesbian principle.
I would say just remember to pray, "God not my will, but yours be done".

Jayson

Re: NEED YOUR PRAYERS ON MAKING A MAJOR DECISION!
WOW! I just got back on my computer (3:22 p.m. here), and I am humbled and awestruck at the godly responses from my brothers and sisters.
Val and others, you are so right: WE ARE TO OCCUPY UNTIL HE COMES! I, too, long for Him to come EVEN THIS VERY MINUTE, but He will come whenever HE is ready, not when I am!
I have prayed about it extensively, and I feel very peaceful that we are going in the right direction. I didn't share a lot of the behind-the-scenes things that have already fallen into place, that only God could control. You don't have enough space on the message board to hold it all!
Valerie, I like what you said here:
"Look at it this way; should the Rapture happen this year, then all is well for you and your girls; however, should it not take place and you have arranged to be in a new school for them, then all is well too!"
And Ditta, you said:
"Since your motives are pure and of the Lord, to serve Him and for the good of the children He has given you I am confident that the Lord will reveal His will to you, will open the right doors and close the wrong ones.
Even if the Rapture comes in the middle of the move, all that would mean is that you were 'occupying' as He told us by seeking His will for your lives. His ways are beyond tracing out and so far above ours as to be beyond second-guessing."
Both of these responses are excellent, and just hearing your advice gives me a peace and a connection that I wouldn't have otherwise.
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR KINDNESS AND UNDERSTANDING. OH, HOW GOOD IT FEELS, THE HAND OF A FRIEND. THANKS FOR YOUR GODLY ADVICE.
LOVINGLY, Rhonda
