Play in steering shaft
Hi all, I want to do a bit of work on my '93 TDi 200. I've got a bit of play in one of the uj's at the top of the steering shaft. I just checked various sites and it appears that you can't buy a replacement top uj on it's own, only the bottom one is available separately. As a new shaft inc both UJ's is about £50+vat (Paddocks), I'm trying to find cheaper alternatives. Does anyone know if it's possible to demount the top uj and replace it with a bottom one?? |

Why do you want to to try and ******* bodge the steering shaft. It's fannies like you that cause ******* accidents and give us all a bad name. Buy a new one and fit the ****er whats £50 + Vat for your and everyone elses safety. ******* bams like you shouldnt be left alone. |

Ted, you've not been taking you medecine have you. I didn't say that I was going to bodge anything and I'm surprised that you felt the need to be so aggressive towards someone that you don't know. Really, calm down. Incidently, no bodging neccesary, I managed to adjust the play out of the steering box and all is well now. So just relax, will you? |
