Hauntings
Hi all, I really ejoyed reading the new section on the house Haunting. Reminds me of where I used to live in Huntingdon. I couldn't sleep be up late. Just before I would fall asleep I would hear whining noises it was very disturbing. The occasional something out of the corner of my eye. I was very stressed and thought at the time I was producing the events. I mean I would be doing dishes and the dish rack would move away from me. Glasses would break by themselves. My dog Tahoe a puppy at the time would growl and bark at nothing. My bearded dragon became very ill and passed away suddenly (bless him). I would hear foot steps down stairs in the empty seller when I would be home during the day on weekends. In summer I could really feel where the cold spots where in the house. Winter time it was a lot of fun trying to keep warm. It was a old run down house converted into two apartments. I remeber waking up one night and having my motorcycle alarm going off for no reason at all. Many a time it was hilarious to have this happen in the middle of the night about to run outside with only a t shirt and a paintball marker. Since we have moved everything is back to normal so it seems.

Actually, this is one of the things that worries me about selling the house and buying a new one. We looked at a place in the Lancaster area quite a few years ago, the boys were very young at the time - Kyle wasn't even born, so we're talking pre-1986. This place was perfect, 5 bedrooms, a massive, massive kitchen, formal dining room, a parlour, a livingroom, a library, and an office. It had 1 acre of land and the most beautiful natural pond as well as a massive, separate garage/workrooom. The price was perfect - $85 000. Most of the house had been renovated (it was over 100 years old). Had that whole gingerbread look to it. Anyway, the boys walked in the door and promptly turned around, ran outside. They REFUSED to come into the house. We did a walk-through, my mother was with us. All of us ended up "creeped out" at the place. Visually, it was beautiful, lots of windows but it was dark inside..hard to explain, it was just heavy, depressing...nasty. My uncle lived in Apple Hill - he had wonderful neighbours, problem with the neighbours? Their house was haunted and it was so bad, they ended up selling and moving to the city. I love old houses but we've all come to the conclusion that we might be too sensitive to energies. This makes visiting homes a little less pleasant than it should be...I am so afraid of finding another "perfect" home and then walking in to find out, there's no way I could live there, comfortably. Been there and am doing that...don't want to do it again.

I know the feeling Chris and I went house hunting before we moved back to Pointe Claire. We look at this place near St Antoine Abbe and well the house was 90 years old beautiful. I love the spot and we had 4 acres to ourselves. The garage was perfect for Chris to work on his cars it even had an upstairs attic with windows at each end. Looked kinda like I could do ballroom dancing in there. It was huge! I started feeling the willies when I waled across the floor. I felt very sick suddenly and the moment I walked back down the stairs it subsided. We went into the house and it was very depressing and dark. I couldn't go up the stairs it was as if something was pushing me against the wall. Chris thought I was fooling around in the sense I didn't like the house cause I was quite most of the time listening to the real estate agent. Anyway He took my hand helped me up the stairs . NOw before you could enter the upstairs floor one had to unlock a trap door that was actually locked. He touched the door and it was icy cold. He turned and looked at me button up its cold up here. We went up stairs and I could see my breath. The real estate agent didn't know what to say she said she was up there last week checking the house and it was not cold like that. NO windows were open and it was not cold at all outside. The roof had no leaks and the windows where in great shape. I didn't see anything upstairs but i felt very unwanted. When we wnet down stairs we found out the house was for sale because the wife had pasted a month earlier and now the father was in the hospital fighting for his life in Gaspe area. Was it them trying to tell us to leave or was it another entity that had taken up residence while they were there. We did not purchase the house as I had requested to my husband Chris I didn't like the feeling I got while we were there. He agreed and that was that.

A lady I work with at Delmar is recently divorced and is renting an apartment in MOntreal east. She is all settled in now. But has been having trouble sleeping at night. She practices Feng Shui. She is very close with me about the happenings that have been taking place in her new home. She told me that she has been hearing someone working in her kitchen and cleaning in the wee hours of the morning. She told me last week "Melanie I heard a broom fall at 3:30am!" She has even discovered a happy face that someone would make with their finger on the side of the sink that was not there before. She has tried scrubbing her sink but it won't go away. Her glasses were breaking by themselves during the night. She wants to trying and have the spirit understand that they are welcome to share her home but not to break anymore of her belongings in the kitchen and bathroom. I say bathroom because she also had trouble getting the water to turn on cause the tape was missing a piece. When she turned and walked away when she discovered there was a problem with the tape. She came back and the piece that was needed was beside the tape on the tub. Its not like bad things are happening but she wants some help trying to understand. I can only go on my own personally experience. I have told her to trying introducing herself and speak nicely with the ghost about the happenings that have taken please. She so far has asked that they not break anymore glasses and since then it has stopped. When she started speaking with the ghost thats when the smiley face appeared on the sink. She has invited my dog Tahoe and I over for tea& treats one day on the weekend when we have time to get together. I can't say I look forward to the invisable guest but I am sure I will be fine.

This is so very interesting. We lived in a "haunted" house for 21 years. I never said a word to anyone about our "guest", it just seemed so normal because the same thing happened when I was a child. It wasn't good or bad, it just was. When we sold our house, by sheer co-incidence, I knew the buyer through my job. Her daughter (4 years old) told me there was a 'ghost' in the house! Our new house has a presence, too. My circle says it's me that is attracting them. My son (27) has the same abilities as me. I asked him if he could feel a presence in our new house. He said yes, and pointed to the exact spot where our "guest" stands and watches me do the dishes after dinner. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- Replying to: Hi all, |

For us, its the entire family - all 3 boys and my husband. We have a real tough time ahead of us, we have to go house-hunting. Half of me is looking forward to it and the other half dreads it. Karen |
