OK all you George W. Bush fans....
How do you like the gas prices??? Oh, and how do you like GWB's approval rating??? All kidding aside, these are scary times. The economy isn't good and anybody who tells you it is good is seeing the economy only from their own or a limited perspective. The country's morale is down and the only thing American's seem to be enamored with are high paid jackass athletes. Where is the outrage???? Why don't humanitarian types get equal press??? How about people who teach and make other's lives better..what about them. Instead, we are becoming a culture of avarice and short-sightedness or myopic thinkers. This is not good in my opinion. This message was dedicated to Paul Kottler. Regards to all. |

I have to disagree about your remarks regarding Pres. Bush and the Humanitarian efforts. G "Dubbya" is not responsible for our Gas prices, the oil companies are. I guess if Wal-Mart raises their prices, it's GWB's fault too? I do look around and I see the economy is booming, why are all these houses being built faster than an ant pile forming in my front and back yard? Why is it that I see strip centers cropping up everywhere, HIriing soon signs to boot? Why is it I see lots of cars on the freeway if the Gas prices are too high for these people who can't afford it and could opt to take a bus or carpool? And why is it I see lots of people driving WHATEVER type of new car they just purchased if the economy is so bad? And, I Guess Angelia Jolie's humanitarian trips are mearly a PO by the news? I see her on every single channel when they report her whereabouts, what's she's doing to help poor kids and adults. Or, I assume you missed the fact that Kathy Griffin of the "D" list visiting Iraq is not considered Humanitarian effort by humoring them, helping them forget just for one or two seconds where they're at, missing their families (WHICH BUSH DIDN"T FORCE THESE PEOPLE TO INLIST..NO DRAFT NOW nor will there ever be one). And, if our Liberals and Enviormentalist would let us Drill for oil here instead of relying on outside sources, our prices would go way down. What you do not understand is, when we purchase oil outside our country, these oil companies pay alot of money for it and to ship it here, so if the prices are too high, contact Shell, Exxon, Valero, Texaco, Citgo and complain to them, not our President. As much as anyone wants to think that Bush can control Prices, why hasn't he gone after the IRS for us American's to wipe it out completely? Thank your local Governor for taxes being raised if you smoke like myself! Thank the enviormentalist for us not being able to drill for oil here to lower our gas prices. Thank Al Gore for trying to Scare us about GLOBAL WARNING while he drives his gased up truck around poluting the air in Tennessee. And, most of all, thank Pamala Anderson for torching the chicken house that killed over 70,000 chickens. this will raise the price of chicken at your local grocery store and KFC now...thanks Pam!! Thanks for getting into the fray Jill!!! With regard to all the houses being built..not many folks here in Michigan are buying. So, if people are building and others aren't buying what do you think that means? Either the builders or whomever supports their activity has the "up front" money to put into these projects to wait till the market gets better or they are making a foolish mistake. Here in Michigan, the housing market, although not the worst on record, is close to the worst on record. With regard to your comments on Al Gore scaring us, I am not scared. I just think people need to take notice of the message. Gore may be a lot of things that bespeak of politically driven, but on this issue there are some facts to back up his premise. Now, the question is how to you react to the facts. With regard to people like Angelina Jolie, all I can say is that she is nuts. And there are a lot of other nuts running around getting headlines. With regard to Bush and gas prices...Bush's family is in the oil business and he favors policies that are favorable to the oil business. I believe Bush's loyaties are to those who helped get him elected but so much so that he has forgotten many Americans. He pays lip service to many but really favors big business..in my opinion. Finally, if our country is to do business around the world, we have to have some kind of relation with the countries that we could sell our products to. I am of the opinion, we need to keep culivating good relations with other counties and not alienate the other countries. Now, I would readily admit, some countries we might do business with are not the "nicest" people but they could be trading partners. I also think many countries are deathly affraid of terrorists and do not think it advisable for Bush to try to do his John Wayne thing unilaterally. The Muslims outnumber us by a large margin. I surely hope Bush and Cheney realize what that means when trying to deal with them. Your turn Jill |
