"AND A POLITICALLY CORRECT NEW YEAR, TO YOU

After reading several comments here on Tunnel Talk, and following the dispute over holiday greetings being kicked about in our country by the Politically Correct folks, I ran across a news blip in the Dayton Newspapers. It seems a "problem solving" person from Bellbrook, Ohio has finally come up with a politically correct Christmas greeting. It begins:
"Please accept with no obligation my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, nonaddictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion or secular practices of your choice."
After reading over all this contriversial hogwash I have but one politically correct statement to make.
...HUMBUG !..........HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!!!

So Harry, besides a nice piece about Huncie, what else will you put in our Christmas stocking?

I'm preparing to make the anual "Thompson Fruitcake" w/a 'liberal'dousing of brandy to top it off! Film at 11.

Don-- So among other hobbies other than managing {?} the '63.com website you have become a culinary specialist. I will try my best to live up to the position of class columnist that has so graciously {?} been bestowed upon me. Whenf learning to write stories and articles in high school I thought of myself as the "T. S. Elliott" type. After further training in the '60's, and becoming co-owner of several watering holes later in life, I probably fall more in the "Hunter Thompson" catagory. {By the way: was he any relation of yours? You do have some strange quirks. i.e.:"fruitcake chef?"} Anyway, thanks for the honor.{?} I hope the "Thompson Fruitcake" comes out well. I have never been a big fan of fruitcake. However if you have any of that brandy left.............. Thanks again. Now I have to run out and buy myself a nice cigarette holder.
