Aaaagghhhhh !!!--the horror----the horror! Is there nothing sacred in this world anymore? Is there no reverence? No respect? The whole modern-day world is going to he** in a handbasket! The Associated Press ran an article, from Memphis, Tennessee, in the papers the other day. It seems that some multi-billionaire media mogul, Robert F.X. Sillerman, laid out $114 million big ones for a 85% stake in Elvis Presley Enterprizes and wants to turn Graceland into an amusement park. "Something on the grand level as Dieneyland or Universal theme parks." To this, I must say "B. S.". This "person", who has entirely to much cash to burn, must either be from a different generation than ours, or had waaaay to much fun in the '60's. Colonel Tom Parker would roll over in his grave at the thought. [Probably so they could stuff some more money in his pockets.] Elvis's final resting  place should remain as it is. A middle-of- the-road tourist attraction. Not some grand, overblown, amusement park!I don't want to spend a night in "Heartbreak Hotel". I don't want to ride through the "Hunka Hunka Burning Tunnel of Love". And I damm sure don't want to be met at the gate by a sixty foot tall, fiberglass, Elvis, in a gold lamee' suit with swiveling hips! I've expressed my opion and all I can say is: THANK YOU.... THANK YOU VERRRY MUCH! |
