Re: CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi
We'll email them over now.
Can we set the rule that the official times count? As we all know we loose time when not on chip-time at start and finish - but if the club says formal times are the only accepted times - then at least we know and none of this "I wasted 2 mins at the start" stuff
Does everyone agree?

Re: CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd like to disagree. We've always used our own times for the Championship and for the slower runners in particular it can make quite a difference. It takes longer for those of us starting towards the middle or back of a large race to get to the start, so not only is our official time wrong but Club members starting nearer the front will have an advantage when it comes to the Championship. What does everyone else think?

Re: CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi folks

I agree with Michelle and am quite happy to trust that everyone will abide by the spirit of the event.

When you look at some of the events we enter that both field sizes (Cabbage Patch 10) and the inaccuracy of Chip times can affect us

Re: CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As Gary is standing down as Club Secretary, I have started to build the club championship tables for this year. I have already posted the results of the Fred Hughes on the notice board in the changing room. It has always been the policy to accept personal times from members, the notice invites members to give their own times if necessary. Tables will be posted on the notice board as well as on the website after each race.

Re: CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK
I stand corrected! As long as we know what the standard is we can follow it.

Good for us with GPS watches that stop automatcially when we do! :) lol! So we can have a 5 min rest and the watch will forget all about it!

(only kidding)

Re: CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to agree with Michelle and Mick. I consider myself one of the slower runners when it comes to races and when starting nearer the back as I so often do it does make quite a difference.I would like to carry on using our own times with the knowledge that the time I give is accepted as the truth.
