Misc LQ Questions
Questions : Sorry so many... - Screen Door… What do you normally do? Can it be re-installed after the trim is added or do you suggest a different screen door? - Gas pipe was Black ½ inch, right… couldn’t remember. - What does the yellow wire control? You said to connect it to the charging circuit on the converter… which one is that? The converter simply states that it charges the batteries automatically when connected to AC and recommends 8 ga stranded wire from the POS and NEG terminals directly to the batteries… but doesn’t specify any particular circuit. If I connect it to the POS terminal the only fuse protection is the large 50 amp next in the battery compartment which seems like a lot. We’d have both the 8 ga wire and the very small yellow wire on the same terminal. If the yellow wire is the trailer interior lights, we would have lights just like it was coming from the truck, but I’d like to add a switch. - The local RV/Mobile home dealer sells the same model converter… but does NOT stock the fuses or breakers for it. Once we verify what sizes to use… I might prefer to purchase them from you. - What is the best way to lube the door hinges? White lithium grease? The tack room door squeaks. What do you use/recommend? Wiring Suggestions/Ideas : I would like a wiring diagram and/or your suggestions on : 1) What ITEMS should be on each circuit? 2) How many of those small can lights should be on the same circuit? And what size fuse for each circuit? 3) Do you recommend an inline fuse on anything in addition to the fuses in the converter? 4) What SIZE Fuses and breakers ? 5) Interior AC wiring in conduit? If so… Metal or ? (exterior will be in metal conduit) 6) Any DC wiring in conduit? If so… Metal or ? 7) Ground DC items NEGATIVE wire to where? Frame? 8) Size of wiring: 1. AC 12/2 ? (12 ga with ground) 2. DC size 10 or 12 ga stranded copper wire on POS ? Red color right? a. Heater Furnace suggested 12 ga ? b. DC size 8 stranded copper on NEG / Ground ? Green color, right? Converter: AC Circuit: 30 amp MAIN + (4) AC circuit breakers -what size? 1) Microwave requires own 20 amp DEDICATED circuit 2) Air Conditioner – should be on own circuit? 3) Receptacles – Seems like too many on one circuit ?? a. Bathroom (2) Recepts (1) GFI - one Reg, wired together so both are GFI 4) Appliances – including: Seems like a lot on one ?? a. Support DC side of converter b. Water heater c. Refrigerator DC Circuits: (20 amp max each circuit AND 85 amp max TOTAL) 1) Positive and Negative suggests 8 amp wire to Battery 2) 9 circuits including FUSES: 1. Refrigerator ~ 6 amp fuse 2. Polar Aire ~ 10 amp fuse 3. Water Pump ~ 15 amp fuse - dedicated 4. ? 5. ? 6. ? 7. ? 8. ? 9. ? What should be on EACH DC CIRCUIT ? what amp fuse? : Furnace, Water heater Shower Power Vent Vent Hood w/Monitor? Lighted Grab Handle Lights: Bed area, Living Area, and Bathroom Receptacles: Bed area, Living Area, (What about the Bathroom GFI DC recepts available? For hair dryer?) Radio TV - You suggested to install the vinyl attached to the luan sheeting PRIOR to and behind the upper cabinets… should I also put the wainscoting behind/beside the lower cabinets including the refrigerator? What about future access to the shower water line in case it is in need of repair? Thanks |
