Re: Hanover Special Olympic 5k race

If the weather is warm and dry, I'll probably go for a bike ride with Around Town Bike group. If it's rainy or cold, I'll run the Hanover race. I probably won't decide until that morning.

Re: Hanover Special Olympic 5k race

Gloria and I are planning to go to Hanover Twp. Saturday morning races work best for us and we're fairly close so the drive isn't bad. Always enjoy doing these small races put on by the high school or college kids for a worthy cause.

Re: Hanover Special Olympic 5k race

The course is basically the high school cross country course. It's mostly grass and trails with a few spots where you cross over pavement. Theres really only 2 decent sized hills in the course. The entire course will be marked including the mile marks.

Re: Hanover Special Olympic 5k race

I'm hoping to have around 60-70 runners, but the more the merrier, and more runners means more proceeds for the Special Olympics. So tell your friends and I hope to seeing a lot of people there.

Re: Hanover Special Olympic 5k race

Johnny and his coach did a really nice job with the race. It was well organized, the course was well marked and there was plenty of water at the end. The course was scenic and moderately challenging, not boring like runing the levee in Kirby Park.

Hey i just want to thank everyone for coming out today. I was definitely satisfied with the turnout, and I hope everyone had a good time. I want to especially thank Mike Montagna and Bill Cooney for advice on planning the race, and Michael Kinney and his fiance for there help prior to and on race day. I've already submitted the results so they should be posted within the next few days. Once again, Thanks to everyone for coming out and making my senior project a big success.

I would also like to thank everyone who came out and supported the Special Olympics and helped my athlete make his senior project a success. I also want to thank those who complimented us on the race, it's always nice to hear you've done a good job.
