Borrelli coaching at Marywood

Congratulations Kevin! Good Luck this year and in the years to follow. Marywood is lucky to have you coaching their program.

Re: Borrelli coaching at Marywood

I was happy when Kevin called me and told me. He will definitely make a great coach. He knows his stuff and will be able to make anyone he gets to coach better.

Best of Luck Kevin

Is Heidi still coaching there? Are there two head coaches or is one an assistant?

Re: Borrelli coaching at Marywood

Congrats to Marywood, not just Kevin. Borrelli could coach anywhere just about anywhere, Marywood will benefit from having him there. Congrats to both!

They still have to train in the offseason to be good, it is not just the coaching.

Alan Webb may be fast, but I wouldn't want him as a coach.

Re: Borrelli coaching at Marywood

Thank you all for your complements and confidence in me. I have never formally coached anyone, but ask anyone who talks/runs with me if they have improved and I think they'll say yes. I am the head coach Heidi wanted to stay an assistant because of some upcoming comments. I am extremely excited and honored to begin my coaching career with Marywood.

Re: Borrelli coaching at Marywood

Def a smart decision by Marywood. They are taking a young guy with a lot of knowledge and experience whos still out there running great races. This will most likely lead to nothing but good things for the program. I know I wish Kevin the best just as I always wish the best for my buddy Wadas at Misercordia.

Also Nick Wadas is a new head coach this season at Wilkes who is starting up a XC program. Now we all have three area programs to root for.

Re: Borrelli coaching at Marywood

If I can get an entry to the new haven 20k on sept. first I would like to do that one...
however I have not been doing any"workouts" since the 4th of july. I have been focusing on bumping up the miles into the 90's on singles and getting in good long runs.
I am planning on starting back up with a lot of tempo stuff this week, and if that goes well I'll really be looking forward to the 20k.
If it doesn't go well I may just stick around here and do the 1/2. we'll have to wait and see...

Re: Borrelli coaching at Marywood

Big props to Borrelli on the coaching job, Marywood has a bright future. I just read what Marywood put up about their new coach and I was surprised to learn Kevin also teaches at Pocono Mtn. West. That drive has gotta suck everyday!

Anyway good luck on the upcoming season.

Re: Borrelli coaching at Marywood

up at 5:30 out the door at 6:00 at school 6:45 teach 7:15-2:40 home at 3:15 practice at 4:00-6:00 Run 6:00-7:00 try to find some time to eat and grade papers... Luckily I'm in a car pool... other wise I’d be doing a lot of my sleeping at the wheel.

Its not to bad once you get use to it… as long as you can find time to eat and sleep.
