I got my weapons playing normal. It's likely to obtain it from normal mode. They allow you to acquire different exotics and exotic elements in the open world.which is scaled to normal so I would find it possible to obtain it in normal mode. They wouldnt make exotics harder to get than others. They are viable in normal manner. Along with lmg and the sniper are available as well I've seen a buddy get them.
