Barring unforeseen circumstances as some of you may have read in todays GAZETTE and with the club actively seeking another venue for next season, this SATURDAYS home game against HANWELL TOWN is likely to be our last game ever grosvenor vale.

For those of us not in the know, what is going on? Why the last ever RMFC game at Grosvenor Vale? What did the article in the local paper actually say?

The article in the gazette stated the club felt the 10k rent charge by RMSSCL for next season was unreasonable and they were looking at other venues for RMFC to play at next season.
With no agreement in place for next season to play at GROSVENOR VALE this saturday COULD be the last HOME game and it would be nice see a large crowd at the game.

£10k, is that all??? Stadium rent or groundsharing charges are normally in excess of £20k a season. It goes to show just how much RMFC were benefitting from their free usage of a stadium that wasn't theirs!

RMFC had to raise the money to pay for the stadium and were not given any money by RMSSCL.
This took a lot of fundraising and with grants and sponsorship we managed to get the stadium graded to isthmian league level which was quite an achievement.
Nowadays without a sponsor times are in fact quite hard as in the past it was alawys the responsibility of the board of RMSSCL to provide the facilities for its members which used to include the football and cricket pitches as part of their membership.

Lets not get into arguments with Wealdstone people, we all know they've manipulated the situation to remove RMFC from the ground.
Oh, and Mr Hmmm please don't drift into areas of legal dispute. I'm also sure you're aware that the actual figure that Wealdstone want from us is closer to £20k for the season when you add in the VAT and ludicrous other demands and fees included in the kind and generous offer to stay at Grosvenor Vale. £20k may well be the going rate for clubs at steps 4/3 of the pyramid, but you well know its an impossible sum for a club operating at steps 5/6.
So we while will say a fond farewell to our longstanding home on Saturday, please show a small piece of courtesy and keep your cheap shots to yourself.
