I thought is was 12 noon EST, but I have heard some people saying that RH isn't really over until tomorrow? Anyone know definitively?

I think someone mentioned in the other thread that it's 7pm in Jerusalem which is 12pm EST. It's 1am here in my side of the world. :)

Yom Teruah is celebrated for 49 hours-from the earliest possible time to the last possible time to ensure that it is not missed.
The new moon was actually sighted in Jerusalem at 6:59 on September 7th.

It is celebrated for two days, then there are 7 more days of Awe and then Yom Kippur.

I had read that the new moon was sighted on the 7th at around 6:59pm so that would mean that it would end on Monday at around noon est.

It seems we still have a day of waiting to know if RH is it.

According to Jar of Clay on YT today is only the first day of RH since the moon was only sighted yesterday. But if nothing happens tomorrow it's cool. His timing.
