Tony, the Hebrew word Daniel uses for "confirm" does not necessarily mean there was a previous covenant. It should be translated as "make a firm covenant."

It's an interesting article, although from my perspective all I can see is an attempt to save face and not some grand strategy at work. Our military leaders cannot define any clear objectives.

Interesting article, Tony. I don't think we can rule anything out right now. It's hard to be patient and be in "wait and see" mode, but the stakes are extremely high right now. We just don't know which prophecy will be fulfilled first.

David I was simply pointing out the fact that it appeared the EU was playing puppet master. I was not aware that the word confirm held the meaning you said it does...Anyway...I am sure all is going as planned.

I wonder if the fate of the world is all pre-decided by the powers that be, sitting in smoke filled rooms cutting deals. The whole "Syria Crisis" could be just a show in order for the world's sheeple to accept the "solution".
