I have added a Mulligatawny map to the flikr photos on the photo gallery part of the web site. (Click on 'view this photo on flikr' to see the full map)
The full route is 7 miles.
The first part is out-and-back and then follow the route anti-clockwise.
The Icknield Way track cuts diagonally through this area (green diamonds on the map) If you want a shorter version run the course to Deacon Hill and continue to the head of the valley. At this point you can cut out the loop down to the Hitchin Road.
On a summer evening this is a fantastic route, if you are unfamiliar with the stretch between the top of Deacon Hill and the head of the valley it is spectacular.
I remember doing this last Christmas Eve and am still thankful that I didn't spend Christmas in hospital given the amount of times I fell over, entirely due to my unsuitable footwear on the day.
Will try and make it, I would imagine is so much nicer in the Summer.
It is supposed to be fine and dry tomorrow, tho I think off road shoes
probably best for the downhill track leading to Deacon Hill, It gets very
churned up by mountain bikes!
