2nd midweek league race

So, now is not the time to sit back and congratulate ourselves on our fantastic performance last night. We already have the details of the next race. Results so far are very close, so we need the same fantastic turnout at St Albans to hold our place!

Not quite so far to travel to this race, but please post below to share lifts.

Thursday 24th May 7:45pm – Highfield Park, St Albans

St Albans Striders are pleased to welcome you all to Division 1 fixture 2.

Location: Cricket Pavilion
Highfield Park
Highfield Lane
St Albans
AL4 0RH

Distance: 10 km

Changing: Changing and showers provided at the pavilion.

Refreshments
provided in adjacent Marquee. There is limited space in the changing room for kit to be left, but it will be unsecured.

Parking: In the field adjacent to Highfield Lane

Course: The course takes in a loop of the park and then cycle track and
minor roads east of St Albans. There will be marshals on junctions
and km markers. Please follow marshals' instructions.

Water: There will be water at 6 km and at the finish. We are using veg-ware
cups this year in an attempt to reduce waste. Also feel free to bring
your own water as it all helps.

Directions: From the north take Hatfield Road (A1057) towards St Albans. Turn
left onto Hill End Lane and at sixth roundabout take a left on to
Highfield Lane. The entrance to field parking is on the left after 200
metres.

From the south take London Road (A1081) towards St Albans. Turn
right onto Highfield Park Drive. At a left bend this road becomes
Highfield Lane. The entrance to field parking is on the right after 200 metres.

Re: 2nd midweek league race

Bumping this up, Ellie. We will need it in a couple of days :)

Again, I'll be travelling from Welwyn garden city and then driving back to Letchworth if someone needs a lift.

Are there many of us going?

PS: will there be any food after?? 😂😂

Re: 2nd midweek league race

I will be driving there from Stevenage and back to Letchworth. I have space for up to three passengers if anyone needs a lift. Leaving Stevenage around 6:45 - 7:00pm from near the Leisure Park/ Railway Station.

Re: 2nd midweek league race

Angeliki - there's always food afterwards, but those who run fastest usually get the best selection .....

Re: 2nd midweek league race

Hahaha!!! I have no chance then!I'll bring a banana!!!

Re: 2nd midweek league race

Yes I will be there - by train from London.

I would welcome a lift back to Letchworth afterwards, please.

Hi Shani. I'll bring the numbers with me tomorrow night, so you can collect yours tomorrow. Allow a bit of extra time beforehand to collect your number from me. Thanks, Ellie

Thanks, Andrew!

Re: 2nd midweek league race

Hi James,

I'm aiming to get the 18:21 train from St Pancras, which gets to St Albans at 18:39 - I imagine you might already been in St Albans by then, but I shall keep my eyes pealed for you.

Andy

Re: 2nd midweek league race

Hi,
Is it possible to get a top tonight to run? I can pay by cash. Mens "M" size required.
Also, can I pay for membership online for me to qualify to represent NHRR tonight?
Thank you,
Newbie

Re: 2nd midweek league race

Hi Alex,

You’ll need to sign up to the club online at www.nhrr.ork.uk/membership
Then email the membership secretary (Phil: membership@nhrr.org.uk) so he knows you’re all paid up so you can be assigned a race number
Then email the kit secretaries (Mark and Sue: kit@nhrr.org.uk) with your vest size to see if they can bring one tonight.

I hope that helps

Naomi

Re: 2nd midweek league race

Andy,

Am planning to catch the same one, boarding at City Thameslink. Will look out for you.
James
