I have 2 flats in super shape that I would like to repair---some one over the yrs decided that caulk and re-painting was a good idea?

1)Rheingold girl(Bev)---lots of silver paint on the seam and might have some wax added--not sure.
2)PBR Ale---nice topless Ale in great condition--the green color is great---but some idiot thought adding caulk to the seam was a good idea

I have done the Acetone thing before on 50's cones but have no idea on removing caulk?? Will Acetone work on re-painted cans??
