John, our friends the Striblings are Alaskans. They just emailed us and told us you now need either a passport or a certified birth certificate to cross the border. Other than that, I don't think there is any problem. The Striblings cross the border twice each year, actually four times since they have to do it again between Yukon and Alaska. No big deal.
