I knew something was wrong with my son from a very early age, call it mothers instinct. Now at the age of 10 he has finally been diagnosed with ASD, dyslexia and learning difficulties. Felt like I been banging my head against a brick wall since he was nearly 2 but being a pain in the butt mother has finally paid off and someone believes me.

I have just been told my son has ADHD, ODD and ASD. I just don't know how to feel at the moment. I am having to deal with this by myself as a single parent of three children. I feel so alone but reading some of your storys helped me a bit. The school are no help and don't seem to want to help in anyway. Brilliant sight, I often look around for information on the web and can't believe I've not seen this sight before! My son was diagnosed ASD almost 2 years ago now, he's coming up to 7 years old. It feels like i'm fighting everyone all of the time, the council regarding his statement and needed more hours, the DWP in constant checks regarding his Disability Living Allowance, other people and their ignorance and it gets so draining... So I was extremely pleased to find this websight. I go to the NAS websight for info, but I shall be returning here for me.

Your informaton is honest. I have two boys on the spectrum and my youngest is doing well at school and terribly at home. It was nice to read that he's not the only one.
