I am a descendant of William Hawthorn and his wife, Hannah Bigham, who emigrated from Northern Ireland (possibly Belfast) in 1786; are there any resources on the family that go back that far? Any chance the more recent Hawthorns you are researching are relatives?

My GG father from Northern Ireland James Hawthorne, with wife (nee Quirts) emigrated to South River Ontario Canada late 1800. Parents to 9 children. Norm, George, William, Bernice, Francis, Alberta, Molly, Evelyn and Isabelle. My grandmother is Evelyn Hawthorne (married Donald Walker).
A family member from Ireland named Sammy Hawthorne (wheelchair) used to come to visit his family members (cousins) in South River in the early 1970\'s.
Any information would be wonderful news for me and our family. My father Leroy Walker (Hawthorne) would like to travel to Ireland and most certainly would love to hear from anyone who recognize any of the above information.

Thanks for your great website.

I think the 1851 marriage that is listed in Banbridge is that of my gg grandmother Sarah Jane Hawthorne (daughter of Hugh and Elizabeth Hawthorne). Sarah Jane married Robert James Dunn (son of George and Elizabeth Dunn) on 24th December 1851 in Banbridge. Gilford, Banbridge.

They emigrated to Australia in 1854/5 and on the immigration records Hugh and Elizabeth Hawthorne are listed as \'deceased\'. Would love to find out more about Sarah Jane\'s family - can\'t find anything in records.
