How do you deal with negativity?

Is it just me or is the world becoming more and more hostile to Christians? The unbelievers want to implicate Christians at every opportunity. Sometimes it's difficult to go around the web because you are more likely to stumble upon someone's post blaming Christians for all the problems in the world.

Re: How do you deal with negativity?

There are enough opportunities to deal with people who are negative about Christians apart from the web.

Most of my Internet activity happens on this site, where we are almost always in agreement on the main issues. When I read hostile comments on other sites, I ignore them and move on. The world is full of damaged people, and my remarks to such unreasoning brawlers is not going to be effective.

That's my experience; is there some medium you're using that requires you to become involved with answering them? Most of the time it's a waste of effort and you are only "casting pearls before swine."

Re: How do you deal with negativity?

yeah,
i too seek haven here david r.
but what if your hostile opponents are under your own roof?

the way i see it today, is i come here to soak myself in the fellowhip of His spirit, and i then i am more re-charged for the world out there.
i realise how unique it is, how special, and edifying to be perfectly safe here to speak of Jesus, to see through enemy attacks, to know the times we are in... there is no room for argumentative atheists here. no one except a spirit-filled bible believing christian would even want to join to Ritan.
it is a safe haven for us 'peculiar' people...

and every day i thank God for it.

Re: How do you deal with negativity?

David R, I read several news sites just to keep myself updated with what's going on in the world. I also watch Youtube videos pertaining to these news. And sometimes I couldn't avoid reading comments and there's always one or two that attempts to put us down. I guess it's bound to happen anyway. Eternal decisions are being made in these last days, and many people are becoming more adamant of their rejection of Christ.

"Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.”

Re: How do you deal with negativity?

I read them, too, and some of the comments are beyond belief. It's bad enough that they surround us, so I don't want to engage them in a pointless argument.

Oh, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with wanting to be informed about what's going on. I only mean that the people who post those hateful comments aren't interested in a sensible discussion to begin with. I agree they're getting worse by the day.

Or you could take Sparkles approach and mess with their minds

Re: How do you deal with negativity?

lol, No Fear Just Faith!

This negativity and attacks on Christians is ramping up Sammy. It's all part of the signs of the times we live in. You can try to present truth but those who insist on seeing lies as truth won't change their minds in the end. Their minds are made up. There's really nothing more we can do to change their minds though we often try. We are told to keep on shining His light on others and to point the way to Christ. They are wearing satan's blinders. Seeing through his eye lenses more than in the past. Prayer for them is about all we can really do at this point. We can make a difference and pray the Holy Spirit waters seeds we plant. But it's discouraging right now.

I believe we've reached a point now where we can't really make as much of a difference like we used to be able to do. As much as we desire to present truth and try to point to The Way, The Truth, the Life, it more often then not seems hopeless. Still we persevere though as obviously the last person hasn't been brought into the Kingdom of God yet. We have to reach him or her. God tells us to persevere and so we do. We who have the Blessed Hope have the hope the world needs. We have the answers the world needs to hear, bought or not in the present time. We have to show the way . We just aren't seeing the immediate result of our efforts. Perhaps the fruit will be born after the Church leaves. I pray this thought encourages you. That eventually your words will be remembered whether you see the progress or not now. We have so much to be positive about. The world doesn't. We have much to give and leave behind.

At this point , it's really up to the Holy Spirit to fall on these last remaining individuals to bring them in before it's too late. Maybe things have to get so terrible around them that they no longer can hold out on their own so they turn to the Lord at that point realizing the error of their ways. I don't know. We just know how discouraging this is around us to observe and deal with. The Good News is we know it won't last much longer. Our time really is up here.

Thankfully, the Lord has prepared a place for us to find like -minded souls to fellowship with and regroup to frshen ourselves. To rebuild ourselves up after being contaminated by the world around us. RN is no accident at this point in history. How we need one another! Truly I pray the Holy Spirit can be felt here as we join together to share what's on our hearts and to cleanse one another and pick each other up after the contamination of the world impacts us. Praise God for creating an oasis in the middle of our desert/wilderness living experiences!

Re: How do you deal with negativity?

Well, if you really are a sucker for punishment, go onto Yahoo Comments and make statements about Jesus. I stopped doing that. I agree with David R..It's casting pearls to swine. I agree with VC, too.

Re: How do you deal with negativity?

I don't pay much attention to people who bash Christians.
In fact I rejoice because it brings this scripture to mind.

2.John 15:19
“If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.

If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.

Re: How do you deal with negativity?

Amen, Morningstar! My sentiments exactly. We are not of this world. I pray for the salavation for those who bash Christians with the attitude of "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." They are in spiritual blindness, and desperately need Christ in their lives. Whenever I hear of someone who is persecuting Christians, I always can see the devil behind their actions. It is a spiritual battle. Try not to take it personally. We are in the last days, where the love of many will wax cold. These are the signs of the times we are living in.

Re: How do you deal with negativity?

I do what Christ did. I teach when I can, and let them come to me if they're drawn by the Father. It's folly, in my opinion, to go into the lion's den and poke the lions. No one will listen to you. So just do your thing, go your way, and allow God to bring them to you. If you encounter resistance to the point of vain babblings (2 Tim. 2:16), kick the dust off and walk away.

If you pray for God to bless your ministry, whatever it may be, He will do so if you are willing to obey and serve Him in this area. If you're sincere and humble at heart, He will bless what you do. But the point of ministry isn't "numbers", it's the message. God's Word doesn't return to Him void. So spread the message and depend on the Holy Spirit to water the seeds you sow.

You don't need to see the fruit of your labor on this side of eternity.
