I need a good study guide to go along with my Bible. For instance, I am reading in Psalms right now, and I need something that would give me the history surrounding the particular Psalm I'm reading. Any recommendations from the wise and learned of my RITA family?

My teacher, a world-class messianic (jewish) rabbi; having accepted Jesus Yeshua at 13, he is in seventies now.

That is the book I always quote extensively here on Rita.

If you want to go deeper, they have online courses via i-Tunes. They also have book reviews of books regarding the psalms, but of a more academic nature than I would prefer. Anyways, you might find things of interest here.

Daniel, a book I could order, or we have a great Christian book store in Tulsa (that's "The Big City" for this country girl, LOL)
that I could order it from, or they possibly might have it. ( It's a HUGE store, in an old barn - jk, jk, lol!)

Keep in mind I had something occur that affected my cognitive processing (I'm really not dumb! I have a Master's Degree in Education!) so it's difficult for me to read really complicated material - it just leaves my mind as soon as I read it, but if it's something I'm looking for specifically, I can will my way through it with the Lord's help!!

Unfortunately I know GOOD works, but they are not SIMPLE:
I do suggest that you go to a big bookstore and browse to find what would fullfil your needs...

I know it would be hard to distinguish the soundness of doctrine from looking at the book; but I believe that if you write down what is important for you theologically; the clerks will be able to find you the right book.
