HOWEVER....
The findings represent the first official confirmation by scientific experts that chemical weapons were used in Syria's civil war, but THE REPORT LEFT THE KEY QUESTION OF wHO LAUNCHED IT UNANSWERED.

I remember an incident a year or so. The rebels had made gains near Damascus, and it was thought they had captured one of Assad's WMD warehouses. AFAIK, there was never another news story about that.

There is also a story going around that Saudi Prince Bandar gave the rebels chemical weapons, to be used to frame Assad. Unsurprisingly, that's heavily covered in the Russian (rt.com) and Iranian (presstv) media.

And another story, dating back a few months ago: the US intercepted a phone (or maybe radio) communication between a high-level Syrian army guy at HQ somewhere and a lower-ranking commander in the field. There had been a chemical incident. The high-ranking guy was equal parts disbelieving and incoherent with rage. He demanded to know what had happened.
The lower-ranking guy had no explanation.
The only possibilities seemed to be that:
a) the Army in the field had no idea what had happened (so presumably the rebels were responsible);
b) there had been an accident of some sort -- somehow some chem weapons were there (though it seems highly unlikely they would have been there) and someone dropped them, or used them in place of a regular weapon.
c) the Army in the field had been faced with some sort of we're-all-about-to-die situation and had used a chem weapon without permission (though it seems highly unlikely they would have had it in the first place).
In any case, the Syrian government seems not to have been responsible for that incident.

We may have to wait for Yeshua to tell us the truth. One article I read stated the UN had
no proof the Rebels had any chemicals. They must have missed these articles from this past spring:

When watching the news report yesterday from the UN, one UN ambassador (forgot the name) stated that this was the FOURTEENTH chemical weapon attack since March 2011. I did hear of one other, but why haven't we heard about the other 12?
