What is your DREAM JOB???

In Heaven we will be worshipping the Lord in everything we do...we will sing & dance before His throne and we will live in His eternal LIGHT! We will also have the pleasure of serving our King in various ways. The things He gives us to do will suit our natural, God-given abilities and we will have much pleasure in our work. Imagine that!!!

So I'm curious as to what y'all think you might like to "do".

As for me, I really enjoy getting to know people, and then surprising them with something I know they would particularly appreciate. I love to give and I'm "crafty", so I like to make things for others. I also like doing things for people, just to make them smile. I like to be hospitable in small ways, such as fixing a plate of cookies or making a yummy cappuccino drink for someone ... you get the idea.

So I guess my dream job would be to flit here and there just spreading the love. Perhaps work at a little Heavenly coffee shop where I could serve fresh-baked cookies, scones and coffee cake, and make cappuccino drinks for whoever ambles by!

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

I know without a shadow of a doubt......I will be taking care of animals! God loves animals or he would not have saved them in the Ark. Also the bible states the lion and the lamb will lay down together. AND... we shall come back riding white horses with our Lord Jesus!!! WooHoo.
Anyway, I just know that I know that I know that animals in heaven will be part of my "job" and reward!! Maybe feeding them, brushing them, just hugging them!! I can't wait!!

That will be a wonderful job, Southern Grace! Thanks for sharing,
and "WELCOME!"

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

MMMmmmmmm......Scones......

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

I like to paint. Took some art classes in college and really enjoyed them. Drawing, Painting, 3D-Design was a blast. I paint miniature figures as a hobby. So I guess anything artistic.

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Knight Michael, for some reason that dainty tea cup with the dangling little tea bag doesn't look quite right in your masculine hands...

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

I am coming over to your house Charity, to eat the fruits of your labor and to help. I love to bake. I love animals too, I love exploring the woods and river banks, I love singing and playing music, I love to dance.

Gee, I am not sure what I will be doing!

That is too funny Charity.

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Oh that reminds me, Carlee, I had an internal vision about 5 days ago...I found myself watching a scene in which my heavenly self was dancing before the Father! I was dancing around Jesus, and I actually went in and out of Him somehow, like I was absorbed into His body at times during the dance! It was the most beautiful & intricate dance I've ever seen, and I even got a glimpse of my appearance. WOW!!!

Okay, I change my mind. I want to be a dancer!!! I bet in Heaven we'll get to do a lot more things than we would ever be able to do in our mortal bodies. Can't WAIT!

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

What a great idea for a thread, Charity.

For me I would like to be a nature tour guide for all the Heavenly national parks, preserves, monuments and gardens. To lead tours that identify all the different birds, animals, butterflies, flowers and plants as well as how our Father made them. I love to explore God's creation up close and wonder what He had in mind when he created each wonderful animal, plant and rock from the theater of His awesome creative mind.

Tours are free but you had better sign up early to get a good window seat on the tour cloud bus..

We'll call it cloud nine tours.

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Charity, book me a seat at your Heavenly Coffee place! You got me hungry now!
what a beautiful pic of those horses, would love to use it on my avator!

And Southern Grace, yes, we will do the animals together! I would love to take care of the Lord's horses! Not sure if we would have to clean the stables over there??? But no problem!

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Oh Charity, what a beautiful vision of the perfect expression of our love for Christ! We will be able to dance with perfect technique for our Lord and He will be a part of us and our dance! WOW!

Just melts my heart, thank you for sharing that. Just a little gift from the Lord on what to expect!

p.s. I have dance class tonight, so I will be practicing, !

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

I would like to sing in the Heavenly choir
and see Christ's smile, and everyone enjoying Jesus

I would like to help baking cakes
I'd like to help the angels taking care
of the little ones,
and then skip in Heaven's meadows, where these little children are happily giggling with delight while petting the animals

Would love to be a student learning from the saints of the bible,

and rejoice with my mother,

and rejoice together as RITA watchers reminiscing over our meeting on earth and how we enjoyed sharing our Lord . . . .

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

I've always thought I'd have made a decent teacher, so if there are any teaching jobs in heaven, I'd like that. I have read some Near Death Experiences where new people come into the Kingdom and don't really know what is going on because maybe they were death bed conversions or something, and they have people there who guide them and explain things to them. I'd like to do that.

I also want to sing in the choir! Here, I can't sing a note without glassware shattering! LOL

Or the scones thing. Glad to see you back Knight Michael! Haven't seen your posts in a while. I'm not sure how scones are a job, but if it includes a latte or mocha with it, sign me up! I could run the heavenly Starbucks!

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Diane, I'll drop my girls off at your place and you can
teach them whatever kids need to learn up in Heaven!

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

I will have x2 Jobs-

First Job- Manager of the "Tears of joy corporation"
All water provided by myself

Second job- Janitor
Work hard, get prompted with the aim of been able to clean the Throne room.
“Some would say I have an ulterior motive”

Love ybiC / Paul

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Sounds good, Charity - but I have a feeling that in heaven we can probably learn from the children as they worship Jesus!

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

What a great question to ponder, Char! My dream jobs would include:

painter, studying oils under the Master

dress shop owner, being around beautiful fabrics and dresses and helping to dress the saints- I would love to wear a beautiful and highly impractical in this earthly life dress every day!

student, studying at that Heavenly U- God's Word, great works of literature, languages, art, music

jewelry maker- i love rough-cut natural stones; would be so fun to make something special for everyone I know

florist, just imagine the lush flowers to arrange and present as lovely gifts

and of course, Mommy

that should keep me busy for a while!

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Charity,

I have thought about this often. I love animals and I am with Southern Grace and Sabrina, I want to spend time tending to God's beautiful creatures. Sabrina already promised to teach me to ride since I have always loved horses. And I enjoy working with cats and dogs since I once worked for a vet and have helped with a cat rescue group. I know that God will have several jobs available for me to help with the animals.

But, my other God given gift is flower arranging. I love to do it and it just comes naturally. So, I imagine myself making glorious flower arrangements for our Wedding Feast. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!

Tom, imagine when our God takes us close to His Throne and we gaze on the Cherubim and Seraphim Angels our Great Creator made. Whoa!! the brilliance of God's Light reflecting upon these angels as each displays their God-given roles in heaven serving God~~

What an experience, when Jesus escorts us onward and deeper into God's Light. There, our Father's greetings will thunder~~ He has plans to greet each one of His dear children . .

and ALL because God chose to display His Greatest Love!!

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Charity, what a neat topic for a thread!!!! Well, of course, I have to get on this bandwagon too and say that I know for a fact that I will be taking care of lots of animals! They will be so spoiled that they will pass the word around to all the animals in the kingdom and they'll all want me to adopt them!!! (You see, I believe the animals in heaven are going to talk....don't ask me why, but I honestly believe that!)

Hey, Scott, I'll even take care of Scarby for you!

Not only that, but I asked the Lord if he would give me a beautiful voice so I could sing to Him. I would LOVE to lead a worship service in heaven, so I can picture myself in front of thousands of people in a large stadium worshipping the Lord. (You see, that could ONLY happen in heaven, because I have a voice like a bull moose ...you know, the kind of voice where dogs howl...so I would imagine the Lord putting His fingers in His ears when I sing to Him here!!

(Just kidding, Lord, You know what a warped sense of humor I have!)

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

I would like to be the decorator of the mansions in heaven!

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

LOL, ooookay, I wonder what that poor little creature gets paid for that gig! Hope he's "saved" and has some really good insurance! And I thought the Walmart greeters had it bad

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

THAT'S IT, KNIGHT MICHAEL!!! [ THAT'S EXACTLY HOW I PICTURE THE ANIMALS! Chatty beavers, smarty pants kitties, talking horses, etc....

Where did you get this???? This is great, right up my alley!!!

Thank you for posting this!!!!!

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

When I am not praising and worshiping the Lord I would like to garden! Just put me amongst the flowers and I could be happy forever!

And to able to sing....God alone knows this has been my desire for ages. Can't sing a lick right now. I'd like to be a part of that heavenly choir with you Donna....

Charity...if I bring you some heavenly flowers, may I have one of your scones? Thanks!

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

It is hard to decide because I enjoy so many things. I love babies so I would like to help with the little ones. I love interior decorating, music, books, gardening, and I am an event planner also. I have planned events for small and large groups and also was an event planner for an upscale community of homes for several years. I really enjoy coming up with a theme/plan and pulling all the different components together to create a memorable time for all to enjoy. I don't know if there is a need for that in heaven but if so, count me in.

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

This one is for Diane.

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

I will start with the job I would want to do the least, the one I retired from: the U.S. Postal Service. It is - or was - the epitome of monotony - and folks have been known to go postal!
My dream job (in contrast) was the one I started at age 13: egg ranch hand. I loved to gather eggs, I loved to go after loads of sawdust in the old GMC truck, I loved getting rained on, I loved shoveling chicken manure. My fun stopped when, at 19, they made me exchange my shovel for a rifle. My floors of rain-filled sawdust - they didn't fix the roofs - became something you wade in: Mekong rice paddies.
By the time I got out, they had spoiled my fun. The trusty shovel had become the trusty tractor, and the free-range old-fashioned farms had become mega-factories: chickens in torturous cages.

Therefore, when I go to heaven (this year) I would like my own replica of the old-ranch-on-the-side-of-the-hill. My beloved dogs would be there, I would talk to them, as well as the cats, as well as the rats
that play in the manure ... minus the mites, that is, the ones that crept and crawled ... (no, they wouldn't talk because they wouldn't be there). I apologize for being so wierd. But that's me ... Plus, I would ride to work on the same beast as I used to: the 1956 Harley Davidson K model (that I let go for a song). And if that's what transports me to heaven, so be it . . . even though it's black. Now I will divulge the secret. My brother gave me the nickname (years ago) Kman, or Cayman (after the islands) because I was a K model man age of fifteen: a little 900 CC (55 inch), still, the biggest baddest thing on campus (next to the Hondas, etc.).

I usually lurk, shy and withdrawn, but now I apologize for my longwindedness...

I digress. I came with the pony express.
[Now you all know I come from the day
when Clint Eastwood was Rowdy Yates on Rawhide.][

"I should have been a pair of ragged claws
Scuttling across the floors of silent seas."

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Wow everyone, such wonderful & diverse job ideas!!! I love it! This thread is helping me to get to know y'all a little better.

Kman, I liked your long post. I think it's cool when people tell stories about their lives. Don't be shy-- you should 'come out and play' more often!!!

I'm cookin' up something good for y'all...another thread... which I'll have to start tomorrow as I'm pretty pooped out tonight.

Oh, one more thing: y'all can call me "Char" (pronounced like the first part of my name), because that is what my close friends and family call me. And honestly I feel closer to some of you than any friend I've ever had.

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Good night Char...

Email: randyjan@windstream.net

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

G'night Randy!

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Ok, Char!

Here's my dream job(s)...

1) playing in the heavenly orchestra

2) singing in the heavenly choir

3) teaching Bible studies, and sharing stories of His goodness and love with the saints

4) Hosting piano sing-alongs in my home, singing praises, Gaither-style

and all of the above for His good pleasure and for His great glory!!!

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Thanks Knight Michael!! That was so adorable! Those precious kids - and old Ernie handled it great! You know, in several of the NDE's I've read, the folks say there's lots of laughter in heaven. I just can't wait! I love a good laugh and sense of humor and that's getting harder and harder to find in this world. Can you imagine? All my favorites in heaven - children playing, people laughing, and lots of great singing and worshipping! Really does sound like heaven!

Blessings bro!

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Hey Kman, thanks for peek at who you are! I wanna hear about your old GMC truck. What year, what color? We're "old car" people ourselves too.

You know, if I could prove to my husband that he could have old cars in heaven, that might be enough to finally get him saved - LOL (only the Lord knows his heart - if he is or isn't, but I think the old cars would up the odds quite a bit)

Anyway, glad you're not lurking anymore! Welcome!

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Old cars in heaven? Gas prices would be SKY HIGH! Get it? I can see myself asking Jesus "Lord can I drive a '67 Shelby out on the new earth country roads for a little while? I'll bring it right back!" You have to make sure to have the tires with the golden street treads though. And please get the white walls.

What would I do in Heaven? Absolutely everything that is allowed. We DO have eternity yknow. If there is a library there, I'd like to work there.

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

What a fun question!!!

Definitely sculpting babies.....and I want to help care for newborns....I adore newborns!!!

Anything art related...anything science related....and I love to teach subjects I love to people who want to learn that particular subject.

Since I will be in a new body, I want to take up dancing again.

I can't sing, but would LOVE to be able to sing.

I sincerely just want to LEARN!!!! I would even like to go back and witness events in history throughout time. I don't think I will ever get bored in heaven.

I also would love to decorate heavenly mansions....would love to officially learn how to sew.

I hope I can go back in time and enjoy my children as babies again...I loved that time...especially the first few days of their lives.

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Dee dear Sis,

It is going to be mind blowing.
Our loving Lord knows every single one of us and knows each and every pure desire of our heart.

He has it already in place, the chairs are numbered, the last seconds are nearly gone.

Love ya Sis
ybiC / Paul

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Agree with you, Solid. Would love to spend eons browsing in a library. The most fun job I ever had was a student part-time job pasting labels into new books arriving at the university library. We were floored by how utterly obscure some of the topics were. Some of the books were so specialized that it seemed to us only 5 people in the entire world would ever read or understand the book.

Other fun jobs I would love to do:

railroad engineer

airline pilot

symphony composer

drive old cars

help Angels rescue

experince life before and after the introduction of major inventions such as the telegraph, telephone, automobile, early airplanes.

Diane - I'm delighted you asked about the old truck.
But first I had to say a prayer for your husband. As far as I remember - can't believe it was over forty years ago - it was about a 1954 flatbed, don't even know the size, didn't think about those things then;
but it had bluish-green faded paint, a missing door on the driver's side (which was very convenient climbing in and out frequently), a pipe wrench for the standard transmission column gear shift. We put side racks up to go for sawdust. The rest of the time we bumped along ill-repaired ranch roads. I was deliriously happy. The truck belonged to the Riley brothers, the owners of Riley's Egg Ranch in Santa Cruz, California. I still dream about the old place, see the rats.

Like you and your husband, I just love old cars and trucks and motorcycles so I gladly told the story - hoping not to bore others who don't quite share our enthusiasm. But I know Bro Solid has excellent taste.

Char - I'm glad you enjoyed my long post. Actually, you and Diane made my day more than you know. I'm quite isolated (a bit like a turtle in a shell looking out?) It's approaching 11:11 here in California ("Cal-ee-forn-ia" as Arnold would say)
and I'm on pins and needles. It must be round about Feb. 11 already in Israel and Iran (as friend - or rather mate - Paul so astutely pointed out). But that large "punch" against the west? that's another topic.
And it's bedtime.

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

I want to sing in the choir, and I would like to care for the animals. I just love baby polar bears, and baby pandas.

This would be so wonderful.

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Oh my goodness - I have thought about this for a couple days now and still can't come up with the exact job - but I KNOW it has something to do with puppies - I'd like to have little puppies all over the place - I see little white Maltese puppies running around playing - making me smile endlessly - if heaven allows this I would love this! (wonder how the poop problem will be handled in heaven ) Not to worry - no problems in heaven!

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Kinght Michael: That video was soooooo scary!!! Those cars just whizzing right by that poor scared animal!!! I would wreck my car to avoid hitting an animal!!!!

What is so funny, EVERY single time I see a dead animal in the road I get so emotional and I ALWAYS pray for Jesus to please take that baby to heaven. My husband says "good grief" can you imagine how many of those animals you have prayed into heaven???? Heaven is going to be overrun with those things! I just tell him "oh well"

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Ohhhhhhhhhh, this thread is simply BEAUTIFUL! Y'all made me laugh at times, and even tear up in joyful expectation for what we will soon experience! It's just too good to be true-- BUT IT IS TRUE!!!

It makes me smile to see some of you already calling me Char. That has been my shortened name for my whole life, so it actually seems more natural to see y'all address me that way. I'm still debating whether I'm going to let y'all in on my "nickname". Hmmmmmmm. I'll have to think on that one a bit.

Keep the stories comin', friends. This is great.

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

I've talked to the Lord about his a bunch. There are many things that I love doing, but nothing grabs my heart as being with Him.......ALL the time. So I asked Him if I could just be a "doorkeeper" for Him so I can gaze on Him forever without breaks. I think He's okay with that. So, this guy says it from my heart.....

I don't know what I want to do..Just gaze upon His face is good everything I do good we won't need in heaven..I am an accountant so I don't think we need to
do income taxes

So I will have to think about what I want to do..I would love to be a good singer but..

The Word says the first will be last and the last first..so I will probably be a renown singer

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Oh, I want to work with the big cats! The tigers, leopards, etc. Also the little babies, I love little babies!

Soon, dear brothers and sisters, soon!

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Hey Kman! First off, thanks so much for praying for my husband! I really appreciate it!

Does this look like your truck?

Pretty cool! Sounds like you really had some "good old days" in your truck, seeing as how you were deliriously happy! We're usually just delirious while riding in my husband's 56 Chevy. That's because it smokes so much that we're usually high on fumes

I'm glad our posts have made your day I feel pretty isolated too - at least from other Christians that share my rapture excitement. RITA is a special place to me - where I can go and not feel so alone. It will be so great when we're all together in heaven being all that we were created to be!

Blessings bro!

Re: What is your DREAM JOB???

Solid, you gotta go check out those sweet pics Charity put up for you on her post Dream Job pics 2! You'll like those Shelbys!

You know, I never thought about the possiblity of us, when we are on earth in the millenium, being able to drive cars like today. I have absolutely NO idea if that would be possible, but what a glorious thing that would be!!! Hmmm, I wonder......
