People that call themselves Christians (followers of Christ) find entertainment in vulgar shows, vulgar music, etc... I just watched a video a christian aquantance posted on facebook and it was so full of sexual immorality it sickened me and had to turn it off...yet the poster found it funny. When I see so called Christians say their favorite tv shows are shows like "the girls next door (playboy)", Nip Tuck and many others. Then there is the numerous commercials about erectile dysfunction & lubricants...all throughout the day. It is embarrasing to watch tv nowadays with your children. Like Perry Stone said we are worse than Sodom & Gamorrah (sp?)

Oh how I agree, Darlene. This week I have been invited to two girl's night out parties both of which have a theme of a tupperware party except it will be adult sex toys.

I politely turned them down and gave no reason why I wouldn't be attending, but it still bothers me that this is becoming commonplace.

I am kind of a germophobe anyway, so for me to be in this Babylonian world, I feel like I don't want to be contaminated (which is the wrong mindset, I know)....as Jesus walked through the sinful world to help set the captives free. I need to toughen up and just pray for mercy for these people and that the Lord will open their eyes....since they 'know not what they do'.

It is terrible trying to raise children in this world too...it sickens me how bad things have gotten....and now I am the peculiar one. I guess this is part of the suffering we must endure, so I might as well suck it up and have joy through this torture knowing that it is creating perseverance.

I know what ya mean. Then if you bring it to their attention they say we are "judgemental". So frustrating. I really have a burden for these people who call themselves christians yet are following satan. I often say we can only follow 1 of 2 masters, it's either Jesus or Satan and if their is more Satan following going on in their lives than Jesus then they are NOT a Christian. Many think they are because their family says they are christians or because they said a prayer once that they believed in jesus. Yet, satan and his demons believe in Jesus...but they do not follow him (obviously)
I just wish I knew of a loving way to wake these people up! I'm sure Jesus put this burden on me for these people...maybe I'm suppose to just pray for them?

Yes Darlene, I can think of three people (no four) on facebook that I am friends with who profess Christ yet one looks at her astrology, another comments on men's good looks who aren't her husband, another lives with her boyfriend, and another watches horror movies!

I feel like talking to them, but I don't want to be judgmental. What would you do?

Of course, I have my issues too! But they are not so obvious, lol.

I can be impatient (I like to do things efficiently). God nabs me on this one often when I am at the store or driving. I wish I could be over this one and be ever patient and kind. I hold my feelings in check and try to be understanding.

Darelene and Carlee. The only thing you can do is pray for them. That's what I do. I tried to lovingly tell my family about this, but they get very defensive. Or they say 'God is ok with this'.

Darlene, that is exactly what you should do. Only the Lord can show them the truth and convict their hearts of their sin. Pride keeps them from seeing and they think what they personally think matters.

If you happen to find someone who is open to listening then you can tell them the truth, but otherwise just do spiritual warfare prayers and intercessory prayers lifting these deceived people up. The Lord has a plan to wake them from their slumber and He will do it by taking away their idols.

Hugs, hon....I TOTALLY get your frustration. I deal with it daily and it is part of the cross I bear...seriously...I am one who can't bear to see people do wrong, or to see people walking on a path of self destruction....but I was wrong to try and push my will on people....that is a control spirit and it is WRONG. My job is to do the Will of the Lord...not to push my own will on others...even if it is to get them to see the Truth in Jesus Christ.

By pushing my will on others, I was in fact being disobedient, even if I am correct in my statements. My duty when faced with this is to PRAY for those who are led astray and let the father intercede to get them on the right path...afterall I can do nothing in my own strength but only in His. Hope this makes sense. This is the latest thing He has been working with me on.

I thought I had completely submitted, but He has shown me I still have some strongholds that need to be broken with regards to this....I couldn't see them until He identified them for me.

Now, I know to just have pity for these people in a loving manner rather than contempt for their stupidity...LOL. Different mindset, but it makes all the difference in my ability to pray correctly for them.

Jesus died for our sakes so that we may be forgiven of our sins and go to Heaven. We are saved by Grace not by works. We do need to try to live a good life, being guided by God and for the purpose of glorifying God, but our collection of "good works" won't "save" us.

If Jesus is right next to you, with you, what would your answer be if you thought of what He would want you to do in each situation. You know God gave us the gift of a free will, but do we do as He wants? You know Jesus probably wouldn't tell us specifically "not" to do any of the above, but would he want us to do those? Now, are your answers different? Do you get more A's this time? What does this tell you? I think there is a powerful message here. Try living your life thinking of things the second way more often. Keep Jesus in your heart and mind, and see what your decisions are now. Pray for better understanding.

I just wanted to give a shout out to Aussie Paul, because I mentioned that one of the Christian ladies I know from facebook was living with her boyfriend. Paul, your situation is different because you came to a commitment in Christ while living with your lady. The lady I know is a PK and went into the arrangement with her eyes wide open. She did it for financial reasons. I am not sure what she thinks God is gonna say about that?

I am sorry if I caused any hurt feelings in you. I know your heart is in the right place and you are working to live within God's will for your life. This lady is not concerned. I am concerned for her.
