Wilkerson's RAPTURE dream

1998 dream, as related in a sermon entitled "Be Ye Ready Is No Joking Matter":


Matthew 24:42-44: "Watch ye therefore for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."

(Praying) Lord you spoke so clearly to me this past week in a dream. You told me to preach this this afternoon, and I obey you...

I don't get many dreams, and I don't preach on my dreams because I'm a bible preacher, and anything that does not conform to the word of God is to be rejected outright. I'm just telling you how God awakened my soul, how I should preach this more often...I want you to know this is not doctrine, it's not some new revelation, it's simply the Holy Spirit prompting me, and speaking to me about His coming, I don't know want to build any doctrine about it, remember that. I don't have much confidence in dreams, any dream vision or revelation has to absolutely be framed in scripture.

Now having said that, let me share with you without trying to talk to you about doctrine or anything else, just the Holy Ghost talking to me. In my dream I was suddenly awakened by the knowledge that I had been snatched, I had been caught up, and I was in some kind of conveyance, I don't know if it was a chariot, I didn't see the conveyance, but I knew that there were others in it and that there was an angel of the Lord... there was a sense of just racing swiftly thru streets and into houses, this conveyance knew no barriers and I had a sense that I was on my way home, I'm saved, the Lord has come.

I am being gathered by the angel of the Lord, the chariots of the Lord, there are thousands upon thousands, the coming of the Lord is as lightining is from the east to the west...there was a sense of swiftness, but it was almost as I was seeing it in slow motion, this lightning coming, I was seeing it in slow motion, I didn't see a driver, I didn't see an angel, I didn't see the conveyance, I just had a sense, I knew I was being carried and taken and it was moving swiftly, and people were being snatched from homes and from the streets.

And I remember specifically going into a particular home and there were 3 people that I recognized, 2 were friends and 1 was a family member, and we went right by, and there was as sense, a sudden sense, oh God, they were being left behind, and the Lord allowed me to, for a few fleeting moments, to sense the terror of what it would be like to be left behind when the angels of the Lord come and gather His elect from the 4 winds.


I was made to know at that time that even those who call themselves christians, and were not really christians, who despised the grace of God went out and sinned and said I can easily confess, never did forsaking their sin, there was a sense that even though they were sleeping they were aware, there was an awareness that the Lord is coming and there is a sudden moment because I saw hands being raised, people reaching out and waving.


In fact as we kept moving on there were people that were moving and trying to get the attention of this driver, this conveyance, and I was screaming and yelling get out in the open, as if I thought if they were out in the open they could be seen and get caught up but it went swiftly on, but there was a sense that I have never experienced in my life, even though all my life my father taught on the coming of the Lord, my grandfather taught on the coming of the lord, taught about it.

The bible says we shall all be changed, in the twinkling of an eye, suddenly we're going to be changed, the bible says, this corrupt body shall put on an incorrupt body just like His. And the bible says that we are to be prepared and ready, expecting, the bible says He is coming for those who look for His appearing. And those who are expecting, even though sleep they are going to be caught, if it's in the middle of the night.

Now I'm not going to be get into the doctrine of the rapture, when this happens, before the tribulation, middle of the tribulation or after the tribulation, I am just telling you I had a sense of the horror it's going to be for those who knew the gospel, who had one appeal after another, who knew the grace and the mercy of God and they were not ready. They were not taken, they were not gathered in this, and I remember the swiftness of moving, and seeing the people left behind, the conveyance just passing by, and this terrible sense. Lord I know I'm saved, I know I'm redeemed, I'm going home, but those 2 friends and that member of my family... and there was a terror. Two shall be sleeping in a bed, one shall be taken the other left...watch therefore He's coming as a thief in the night. He's coming folks.

There was no sense of speed , there was no sense of traveling, but suddenly I was stepping with everyone around me, we were stepping as out of a cloud,out of a fog, out of time, into eternity, suddenly. There was no sense of being carried out into a cosmos or anywhere else, suddenly we were...Home. We were in eternity and I remember this sense of absolute serenity, as we stepped out into eternity thru this cloud, there was a sense of peace, and all I could see around me people were feeling their bodies, they were feeling their hands, they were caressing their faces, there was no shouting. I didn't see Jesus anywhere,it was just a sense, it happened so quickly, it seemed to be a gathering place, the bible say He's going to gather His elect from the the 4 winds, and suddenly I looked and there were my 2 friends, and my loved one coming thru the cloud and into eternity.

Nobody was looking at each other, nobody, there was no embracing, there was just a peace, an incredible peace, and I experienced it for a moment, I am home, that earth that I was on is gone, I am beyond the reach of satan, there is no sin, there is no possibility of ever being lost, I am eternally His, He did what He said He would do, He said He would come with His angels, He came with His angels, he did everything I preached, everything I said, It's true! He's all sufficient, He's everything that we need!


There was a peace and a a serenity beyond anything I could imagine... and people were just awed, in silence, there was an awe, there was a peace that was absoultely indescribable, and the sense... it was a sense, it's all over, it's all over, it was all... it was all true. That sense of reality and truth - that was not the real world, this is the real world, this is eternity, that's all passed away, it was just a dream, it was just grass, that's what the bible says, the flesh is just grass, it comes up, it withers and it's gone. Time is just a little piece, eternity is a great big realm, God cut a little piece and He gave it to man, with His grace and mercy, saying, here is My grace, My mercy, My glory. He gives you space and time to repent and trust in Him...

But God wait a minute, all of these who didn't come, all of those who were left behind, who thought they were prepared and thought they were ready, they are not here, what about them Lord... they're lost, there was a sense in me, now folks that will not be there but I believe God was letting me feel the sense of this lostness of those who were gone, and suddenly as I was thinking about all those who had not been gathered, I woke up, I sat right up, and these words were like silent thunder in my head- "David, be ye ready is no joking matter." And I lay back in my pillow and God said, "My people are not taking it seriously, they talk about it but they are not taking it seriously, and many, many are going to be left behind- they are not ready... the age of grace is about to end."

Sue, that was so.... amazing and convicting. Yes, the Lord does mean exactly what He says!! I just sent this to lots of people on my email list. Thank you so much!

Thank you for this post. I am blown away. I don't know why....it is a dream from years ago, but..........I just have a sense it is for today!

Oh, Lord, we pray for our loved ones, family and friends, bring them into a place where they feel the urgency of your calling. Lord, if it's possible, let those who are not ready wake up. Lord, we stand in the gap. Even as you are refining us, continue to draw men to yourself. Have mercy on us, Lord.

Even though David Wilkerson had this dream 12 years ago, it is so very current now as we wait for the trumpet and the shout to "Come Up HERE". I loved this and thought everyone else would too.

T/Sue, . . . thanks for a powerful reminder that the first priority in a believer's life is to realize the seriousness of Knowing God and His Son.

I agree, Melanie, it's convicting and brings to mind Christ's 2 commandments that define His teachings of Love.

The part of this that makes me sad is the part where the Lord tells David in his dream about His people being left behind because they are not ready. I have close Christian friends that believe that we're going through the tribulation, and think they have years to get ready...it would grieve me so much if they were left behind.

At first I thought he was talking about people who claimed to be Christians, but were wolves in sheeps clothing, but when the Lord said, "My people" in the dream, that sounded like Christians to me! Gee, I've always been taught that ALL Christians are going in the rapture, whether they were ready or not. The scripture that comes to mind is 1 John 2:28 "And now little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before Him at His coming." Aren't the ones who are not ready be ashamed at His coming? But they're aren't going to be left behind, are they?

I always thought the ones who were going to be left behind were the unbelievers and the people who claimed they were Christians, but never were. 1 John 2: 19 comes to mind: "They went out from us, but they were not of us, for if they would have been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us." Those are what I call "wolves in sheep's clothing."

Don't mean to start some debate here, honest!!! I'm just trying to understand the meaning in David's dream, that's all.

Maybe someone can help me out.

I think when Jesus talks of "His People", He's referring to all mankind. I think God makes an inspiring distinction when He clarifies His dear ones saved and belonging to Him, as "His children".

Donna, that is good clarification. God knows who will be saved since He sees all of time at once and the end from the beginning. He knows who will ultimately come to Him whether before or after the rapture. The ones who are not saved before but will come to Him, He knows about already. I am sure it saddens Him that when the gospel is shared and some pass thinking they have more time and then get caught in the judgment reserved for the ungodly. He would rather they would all come to Him BEFORE the call home.

Oh, Leenie, honestly and truly I go around and around this issue, too. Most of the time I believe that all the church will be taken up, all are sealed with the Holy Spirit upon confession of belief in Jesus Christ, who are washed clean in his blood. The bible says we are sealed with the Holy Spirit.

And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:13&14

Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. 2 Corinthians 1:21&22

Just the other day I was prompted to look up the definition of the word sealed and found that it means:

To affix a seal to in order to prove authenticity AND
to establish or determine irrevocably

To me, that seems pretty final.... although, again, the Lord Jesus himself gives very stern warnings to some of the churches in Revelation and even tells Laodecia that if she does not repent, he will spew her out of his mouth.

I think in the end, as the Word says, God is not mocked. He absolutely knows those who are His and those who are not in Him.

Great definition Melanie - we are SEALED by the Holy Spirit of promise.

I know, Sue! Whenever I question or doubt, I always come back to those verses. I remember early on when you came to rita you wrote about the wording of those verses, describing the process of deposit in the realm of real estate or banking.... Wasn't that you? It was very good!

Melanie, yes that was me. It was the verse that says the Holy Spirit is the "earnest" of our inheritance. Like the "Earnest Money" check you write with the contract on a house. Another good example. I love that definition of seal that you found. It is even more expressive of our position in Christ when we give our hearts to Him - the seal - proving authenticity - irrevocable. God is so good isn't He.

It has occurred to me more than once that the "mark of the beast" is satan's mockery of God's Holy Spirit marking or sealing us to Himself. He tries to copy everything that God does. Counterfeiter.

Your explanations made so much sense, and Biblically based, also. I feel so much better now. See how comforting sound doctrine is? It's like a breath of fresh air to me; it clears up all confusion.

I love the scriptures that assures us of our salvation, and the ones that tells us that we are "sealed with the Holy Spirit unto the day of our redemption".

Wow I read it and it is wonderful revelation.

About the people who are left behind, I just quote the Living Words from Yeshua:

Passage Matthew 6:20-22:
20But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Whoever thought about his treasures on earth, his heart is also in it. You can be rich but do not put your heart in your richness but put your heart in the Kingdom of Heaven then Yeshua who knows the heart surely that you're belong to the Kingdom of Heaven, you're belong to Yeshua, to Him.

Matthew 13:44 (Whole Chapter)
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

I just saw some testimonies about people who converted from Islam to Christian and has change their lives totally. Basically, this is what they felt when they made decision about following Yeshua because they had to pay the price by loosing his/her brothers and sisters even parents and of course friends, jobs, securities for the sake of following Yeshua. The point is when we feel this way, that means we belong to Him for sure.

But the most important think is this:

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Yes true, we are the Children of Adonai. If we are children, we love everything that comes from Adonai and we love His commands so that our treasures then are not in this world but in the heaven because we love Him we love Yeshua who is Our Bride, Our Savior.

# Galatians 4:5 (Whole Chapter)
To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
By receiving Yeshua that we all surely have done, we become sons of the Almighty God, Adonai surely when Yeshua comes He will take us home. As we're sons of Adonai, we belong to Him. As His belongings we will surely be removed from this earth when the rapture comes to be with Him. That again imply our treasures are heavenly treasures which are not from this world but from above, our heart is not for treasures on earth but in the heaven, and we are running for it day to day not because that gives us salvation but because we are a new creation comes from above and loves everything from above and thinks everything that is honor, holy pleasing the Lord.

May Yeshua takes us all home at His appointed time only by His grace and mercy to be forever with Him and His glorious joy beyond words fulfill each of us abundantly ...

Dear TeaRose, my heart just kind of leaped when I read this. What a wonderful dream! Billye Brim is just my very favorite bible teacher and you were next to her in the rapture dream! How great is that?

I had a dream about 7 years ago right after I had moved into my current house that the doorbell rang and when I opened it Gloria Copeland and Billye Brim were there. They had come to see my new house. It was as if we knew each other. I gave them a tour of the house and as we walked from room to room the house just got bigger and bigger with so many rooms. I remember thinking "I didn't realize how big this is". Also each room was huge, filled with only the highest quality of bedding, lamps, drapes, pictures, and art pieces. Each room was even more beautiful than the last. I have thought about it often and wondered if it was my heavenly home. After the tour, we sat around the kitchen table and had coffee and chatted like old friends. Wonderful dream.

What you said about your dream and what David Wilkerson said above makes me wonder if even though we are probably going to be traveling faster than the speed of light, will it seem in slow motion for us so that we are able to experience the wonder of it?

Ms Victor, you are very welcome. It is a hair-raising account. I was in my hometown today; spent the morning with my cousin and the afternoon with my sister-in-law and brother. She and I were watching a series of videos from WWII and the rise of Hitler, Mussolini and Hirohito (Japan) to power. It was a very sobering film and gave a preview of what the coming war may be like when we are gone in regard to evil men who are hungry for power. It was so chilling.
