They were powerful recording sessions, & the anointing was heavy when we recorded them. It doesn't go down like that very often.
Rhonda's a one-of-a-kind singer. She also writes everything she records, unlike most artists. She was signed to a full-blown country record deal @ Warner Brothers where she had the same exact terms & contract as Randy Travis & Faith Hill when she signed. Then, the Lord got a hold of her at church one Sunday, & told her He wanted her to sing only for Him. So, she walked in & asked them to release her completely from her deal just as her first single was coming out. That just about never happens. Faith Hill was the next girl W/B signed after Rhonda left. She was the secretary.
Rhonda's single was, "Safe in the Arms of Love", that became a huge song for Martina McBride a few years later:
Rhonda was then picked up by the Damascus Records label as a Christian artist. I met her there, & produced a few records for her. She had 4 #1's, I think. But the label folded when Buddy Killen passed away. Buddy started the Tree Publishing company here, & owned Damascus Road. He also was the bass player on the Grand Ole Opry back in the 60's, pitched Elvis the song "Heartbreak Hotel", & had many thousands of other country hits. Tree Publishing was the largest independent country publisher for 30 years or so. Buddy sold Tree to Sony & it merged with Michael Jackson's ATV Music then.
Please pray for Rhonda. She's moving & beginning a new position as a Worship Leader at a church outside of Chicago this month.
We're also working on finishing her next record, which is long overdue & has some amazing new songs on it. The enemy always seems to throw roadblocks in front of her when she's about to release something new.

Well, that was strange.
I was finishing the post about Rhonda, & she called me. That girl is so in tune. I told her that some of you were asking about her music, & she thanked you for your prayers.
She'll be traveling up there, & beginning a new phase of her life in the next couple days.
