I loved it so much and was thinking about when we will be ruling with Jesus there in Jerusalem...

Re: Yerushalaim Shel Zahav

Jerusalem of Gold

As clear as wine, the wind is flying
Among the dreamy pines
As evening light is slowly dying
And a lonely bell still chimes,
So many songs, so many stories
The stony hills recall ...
Around her heart my city carries
A lonely ancient wall.

Yerushalaim all of gold
Yerushalaim, bronze and light
Within my heart I shall treasure
Your song and sight.

Alas, the dry wells and fountains,
Forgotten market-day
The sound of horn from Temple's mountain
No longer calls to pray,
The rocky caves at night are haunted
By sounds of long ago
When we were going to the Jordan
By way of Jericho.

Yerushalaim all of gold
Yerushalaim, bronze and light
Within my heart I shall treasure
Your song and sight

But when I come to count your praises
And sing Hallel to you
With pretty rhymes I dare not crown you
As other poets do,
Upon my lips is always burning
Your name, so dear, so old:
If I forget Yerushalaim
Of bronze and light and gold ...

Yerushalaim all of gold
Yerushalaim, bronze and light
Within my heart I shall treasure
Your song and sight.

Back to the wells and to the fountains
Within the ancient walls
The sound of horn from Temple's mountain
Again so loudly calls,
From rocky caves, this very morning
A thousand suns will glow
And we shall go down to the Jordan
By way of Jericho.

Yerushalaim all of gold
Yerushalaim, bronze and light
Within my heart I shall treasure
Your song and sight

Re: Yerushalaim Shel Zahav

I found out that that beautiful girl died of AIDS that her husband may have given her. How sad! She was only 42. Died in 2000.

I re watched the video and could not stop weeping! I wept for her soul, I wept for Jerusalem, I wept for the people of Israel, I wept for Netanyahu, I wept for the coming tribulation, I wept for lost souls.

Come Lord Jesus Come! I pray for the peace of Jerusalem. I know they will go thru the time of Jacob's trouble, Please save the remnant of her as you promised.

Yes, Karla. That is true.

Ofra Haza was also the main voice used for the wonderful ethnic singing parts in the movie "The Prince of Egypt".

Re: Yerushalaim Shel Zahav

Thank you for sharing this . Imagining how it will be. Praying for the peace of Jerusalem. I've always wanted to visit Israel. Maybe Jesus will send me their some day. Praying for all of Israel peace and protection; deliverance and salvation for every man, woman, and child!
