In case any have not read any of this before - this is fascinating - I just opened up the Book of Noah at the bottom, and it is fascinating - how Noah is described from birth! and how Enoch speaks of the coming deluge and all in the earth destroyed except for Noah and his 3 sons and family.
Alot of reading in these chapters, but it's fascinating ya'll.!!!!!
Here is the fragment of Noah I was talking about:
FRAGMENT OF THE BOOK OF NOAH
(CVI-CVII.)
CHAPTER CVI.
1. And after some days my son Methuselah took a wife for his son Lamech, and she became

pregnant by him and bore a son. 2. And his body was white as snow and red as the blooming of a rose, and the hair of his head †and his long locks were white as wool, and his eyes beautiful†. And when he opened his eyes, he lighted up the whole house like the sun, and the whole house was very bright. 3. And thereupon he arose in the hands of the midwife, opened his mouth, and †conversed with†the Lord of righteousness. 4. And his father Lamech was afraid of him and fled, and came to his father Methuselah. 5. And he said unto him: 'I have begotten a strange son, diverse from and unlike man, and resembling the sons of the God of heaven; and his nature is different and he is not like us, and his eyes are as the rays of the sun, and his countenance is glorious. 6. And it seems to me that he is not sprung from me but from the angels, and I fear that in his days a wonder may be wrought on the earth. 7. And now, my father, I am here to petition thee and implore thee that thou mayest go to Enoch, our father, and learn from him the truth, for his dwelling-place is amongst the angels.' 8. And when Methuselah heard the words of his son, he came to me to the ends of the earth; for he had heard that I was there, and he cried aloud, and I heard his voice and I came to him. And 1 said unto him: 'Behold, here am I, my son, wherefore hast thou come to me?' 9. And he answered and said: 'Because of a great cause of anxiety have I come to thee, and because of a disturbing vision have I approached. 10. And now, my father, hear me: unto Lamech my son there hath been born a son, the like of whom there is none, and his nature is not like man's nature, and the colour of his body is whiter than snow and redder than the bloom of a rose, and the hair of his head is whiter than white wool, and his eyes are like the rays of the sun, and he opened his eyes and thereupon lighted up the whole house. 11. And he arose in the hands of the midwife, and opened his mouth and blessed the Lord of heaven. 12. And his father Lamech

became afraid and fled to me, and did not believe that he was sprung from him, but that he was in the likeness of the angels of heaven; and behold I have come to thee that thou mayest make known to me the truth.' 13. And I, Enoch, answered and said unto him: 'The Lord will do a new thing on the earth, and this I have already seen in a vision, and make known to thee that in the generation of my father Jared some of the angels of heaven transgressed the word of the Lord. 14. And behold they commit sin and transgress the law, and have united themselves with women and commit sin with them, and have married some of them, and have begot children by them. 17. And they shall produce on the earth giants not according to the spirit, but according to the flesh, and there shall be a great punishment on the earth, and the earth shall be cleansed from all impurity. 15. Yea, there shall come a great destruction over the whole earth, and there shall be a deluge and a great destruction for one year. 16. And this son who has been born unto you shall be left on the earth, and his three children shall be saved with him: when all mankind that are on the earth shall die [he and his sons shall be saved]. 18. And now make known to thy son Lamech that he who has been born is in truth his son, and call his name Noah; for he shall be left to you, and he and his sons shall be saved from the destruction, which shall come upon the earth on account of all the sin and all the unrighteousness, which shall be consummated on the earth in his days. 19. And after that there shall be still more unrighteousness than that which was first consummated on the earth; for I know the mysteries of the holy ones; for He, the Lord, has showed me and informed me, and I have read (them) in the heavenly tablets.

Isn't it amazing? I read it last year and was blown away by how well it explained so much pre-flood stuff.

Next: Chapter CVII
FYI There are 3 books of enoch BUT only the 1st book, "the watchers" is believed to be genuine. The other 2 are almost certain Midieval in content.
It is possible that he was extremely fair, maybe even albino, but when he was born this experience of light happened. I don't think he remained that way throughout his life (kind of like Moses when his countenance glowed but then it faded). Just my guess.
I, too, have wondered if most people were darker skinned etc. prior to the Flood. Interesting.
From Noah the world was populated again. Of his three sons, Japheth populated the area of Europe. I wonder if he inherited his father's fair coloring and passed that on (because only in that area of the world do we find blond/blue eyes originating), while Ham and Shem inherited the darker coloring (populating Africa and the Mid-east to the Orient).
It's very interesting and fun to speculate about!
It IS fascinating to think about - this most probably is where the white race, light eyes, etc. originated, in all likelihood. It sure is a good possibility anyway. I have spent WAY too much time reading on the computer today. But it's just so fascinating! Can't get enough!!
Wow - just started reading The Forgotten Books of Eden - this is even more amazing! Re: Adam & Eve and their banishment from the garden, the serpent, etc. I just finished where the serpent was made dumb and to not speak any more by God. He banished him to India! Man, that serpent sounded really creepy. He chased Eve upright, Adam caught him by the tail, and he turned then on Adam. God to the rescue!
This is really fascinating reading!!!! Look for it on the web site. It's under The Apocrypha.
Actually I'd think all three sons were of a light color.. The Bible mentions "Cush" as the first dark skinned person.
I doubt the Egyptians were dark skinned back in earlier history.
Look at the Jewish folk today, most are still light skinned.. There are few that inter-married which are darker.
TN/Dove posted the web site some time back with a bust of Joseph in Egypt being a light skinned guy with red hair..
Joseph
Most Jewish people are olive skinned. I picture Noah as extremely fair skinned..........like northern europeans.
In fact, most of the world's population are olive or tanned skinned (Latins, Arabs, Oriental, etc). Light skin is definitely rare, number-wise.
Genetics are fascinating, aren't they? I can't wait to see what our forefathers (Adam, Noah, etc) looked like! But it really shows us how SILLY, completely SILLY any form of racism is.......because we are all from the same ancestor: Noah! We're all family!
RJ,
The Egyptians were on the darker side. If you research/look at ancient hieroglyphics you will only find dark skinned paintings/pictures of people or dark-haired with lighter skin (like Arabs) in Egyptian records. Haven't seen any blonds........sorry.
TN, yes, there are many redheads who are Jewish. However, after WWII, when the Jews returned to Israel, you will find many Jews who are blonds, redheads, fair, etc. because of the Diaspora and intermarrying with other peoples over 2,000 years.
Basic genetics 101: dark skin/eyes/hair are dominant genes. Fair skin/hair/blue eyes are recessive genes. If Noah's parents were darker or Noah's wife was, (I mean in hair/eyes/or skin or any variation thereof), Noah could pass down to his sons his fairness, but also could pass down dark genes.
Therefore, Noah's kids could be dark or fair or a combination of both.
This would explain why the Jews (descendants of Shem) can be darker haired/eyed/olive skinned primarily (dominant gene) but also have recessive gene kids come down the pipe who are fairer or redheaded.
Genetics are fascinating and it's neat to look at history and see how God has used that to create very unique people from one main ancestor.
Please be careful in reading "lost books". I know that the book of Enoch is actually quoted from the Bible, but I have always wondered why these books were left out. I believe the concern was the authenticity of the authors.
I'm not saying the books are wrong, but saying that is how heresy crept into the church. The Da Vinci code is a result of the Gnostic gospels which claimed some sort of authenticity when they are at best frauds and distort the salvation through Christ.
I do believe these are good topics to ponder however. I just don't think we'll know for certain until heaven.
God bless,
DLJ
DLJ,
You are absolutely right.......many of the apocrapha books are wayyyyyyy off and that's why they were left out of the Protestant Bible. However, the Book of Enoch is pretty solid.
It actually used to be part of the Jewish scriptures, but was removed A.D. because it was too messianic.
Jesus alluded to it and Jude quoted it. I don't think that would be the case if it was not legit.
Because of this, the council was divided down the middle about putting it into the Protestant Bible as cannon. Why they left it out is not fully understood. It does remain in the Catholic Bible.
I've read it through and there is nothing that contradicts the Bible. It's very explicit about the Messiah and His death and that He's God's Son, if I remember correctly. (It's been about 2 years since I read it and researched about it).
