I have no idea how I stumbled across this page, but my, how interesting. My grandfather was Clarence Sidney Cooke, grandmother was Louisa Picking. Neither of whom I managed to meet. Their son, Robert Bromley Cooke, (you can add him to the tree if you like) July 1938-April 2020, was/is my father, luckily I did get to meet him. I hope you are well, my distant relation, whoever you are 😀 |

I was on teaching practice at Longslade Jan-March 1979. I was a PGCE PE student and on my first day the head of PE, Barry Batterham, who I must say I really warmed to, told me that the PE department were off skiing for a week. I ended up \'running\' the PE department with a lovely lady called Maureen Hunting who was a supply PE teacher. How the heck we survived I have no idea. BB was not a man to keep his wisdom to himself and one day he told me that the key was to just get through the day and then focus on the children who came to the extra curricular activites and wanted to be there. At the time I felt this sounded odd and as time passed I tried hard to go against this advice as much as I could. Not sure if I succeeded!! |

Thanks to your page I was able to find some info on my grandfather\'s brother (Czeslaw Wieckowski). Czeslaw together with my grandfather Stefan Wieckowski fought in 2 world war all way from Russia thru nord Africa monte casino and arriving finally in UK. Czeslaw came back to Poland in late 40\'s as he had family already here in Poland, and Czeslaw as a free young person decided to settle in UK. I only knew he married Mabel. I think I was to young to discuss the details with my grandfather as he passed 35 years ago and I was not interested in my family roots back then...Now I am almost 50 and very interested in my family genealogy, thus your page gave me some additional info on Czeslaw! thanks and greetings from Poland. |

I was at the pub with my father-in-law when he casually started rattling off random facts about his Uncle—a man I’d never heard of until that pint. Apparently, he was brilliant, had an interesting career, and died way too young. Curious, I Googled him… and ended up on your family tree. Cool, just another branch for mine, I thought. Then a month later, my husband gets a new job—in the exact same town where this mysterious Uncle got married. Life has a sense of humor, apparently. Hello, cousin! Thanks a bunch for doing all this detective work—family history has never been so delightfully weird. |

Hello, Thank you for compiling and sharing such an extensive and fascinating family tree—it\'s an impressive resource. I did notice, however, that my grandfather Peter R. Knipe, who was the son of Arthur Cyril Knipe, appears to be missing from the records. He passed away in 2005, and I wanted to flag this in case it was an accidental omission. I\'m in the process of researching Peter\'s brother, George Frederick Graham Knipe (astronomer). Thanks again for all your work on this project—it\'s clear a lot of care went into it. Best regards, James |
