Gather is not a massive place. You are one experienced researcher... Do I think we might have any family in common? I can provide li.tied further detaiks, but would love to know if we share any family. Thanks for ya time. If you have read this. Evie Craig evielouisecraig@gmail.com |

Hello! My Mum was a Pratt before she got married! Lucky escape for me :) My Grandad was Herbert Pratt (born 1902), my Great Grandad was Herbert Pratt (born 1861) and my Great Great Grandad was Richard Pratt (born 1823/4). Hinckley was a big hosiery town back in the day and my Grandad started up a hosiery factory called Pracola Hosiery in the late 1920\'s and later one called Herbert Pratt Ltd. He passed away in 1954 but Nan (Corona Pratt) continued the business with my mum and her cousin (Brian Pratt) right up until the early 1990\'s. Your website has been very useful in finding out details about family, siblings, parents & children so I will be returning to do a bit more stalking! It\'s a good job they\'ve already passed away! :) Bye for now, Caroline |

Well, I’ll see if I can amuse you. Today I typed “Finney Leicestershire” into Google and voila up comes Ken Phillips web site. So I get my paper and pen with the hope that I might find something that links our family tree. I start with Samuel Finney and it snowballs from there. Samuel Finney married Catherine Storer, these are my G-G Grandparents. So then I check the Storers and bugger me, Robert Weston born 1653 is my 8 x Great Grandfather and yours as well. I have managed to go back 244 years in an afternoon, talk about time travel. Let me know if you want to add any of my info and I will be happy to share. |

Granddaughter of CECIL ALVEY TIDD. Grandad was never married to Lillian. He had 3 children with her - John, Roy and my Mom Mary Elizabeth. Everyone knew her as Betty. When he left the Warrington-Tidds, he had to drop the Warrington part of his name because he was living in sin. At least this is the story I was led to believe. |

I am the g.g.g.g.g.grandaughter of John Phillips & Sarah Hayhurst 1820 SA Settlers. I have an extensive family tree - but after 10 years I am still missing the final link!! John\'s parents and siblings in England. I have been fortunate to have help from a few boffins, however, not joy to date! There is nothing in the Parishes or the Churches in England, birth or baptism. The info on the SA genealogy sites cannot be taken as correct as there is no source or proof. I am now trying to go through living Phillips relatives to see if they have anything documented. John sailed out to South Africa on the La Belle Alliance and the ships log states he was 19, a farmer, Parents Unknown, from Middlesex, London. I see that John is also a common name in your family line . . . Please email me: nuttybales@lantic.net if by some miracle you have something! Kind regards Jen Phillips Bales-Smith.. |

Hi Ken: Your research has been very useful and I have been using it to cross-check my research. However, I noticed that you have mixed up two Mary Headleys. If you check out my files on Familysearch.org, you will be able to see the documentary evidence. Mary Headley (L4WKN5N), daughter of John Headley and Rachel Burrows married James Gilliver. And Mary Headley (LVFHL7G), daughter of Robert Headley, married George Coleman. The marriage records (available when you click on the marriage date) prove this because they give the name of the brides\' fathers. |

Hi Ken: With regards to William Headley (b.1841), I think you have him listed as married to the wrong woman. You show him as married to Elizabeth Dixon, but according to the certified marriage record I ordered from the GRO, he is married to Elizabeth Bradbury. If you look on Family Search (William\'s ID number is L5YF 5LJ) you can review the sources I have used. Thanks for all the work you have done on the Headley line. I discovered your page a few weeks ago and I have been cross-checking it with my own work. |
