Retired. As a teenager - many years ago - my love of good writing was formed by JA and Georgette Heyer. At present, I help the the younger members of my family, and their friends, by researching and editing, but not writing, their class papers for college. I somehow got hooked on JAFF about 6 months ago and would like to add that to my editing list. Regency England is a perfect escape from finance, business, science and the humanities. I have degrees in music, science, and a graduate degree in finance. I have a tendency to add some humor to things I edit, but I will restrain myself when cautioned. (My daughter says I should substitute the word 'threatened' for cautioned, but she has always been a disrespectful child).

I'm German, so I'm not a native speaker. I started learning English when I was 10, so in the last eight years I learned quite a bit. Last year I spent about half a year in Liverpool, where I attended school and discovered Jane Austen (who is not that well known in Germany). I immediately got hooked on fan fiction and hardly read something else now. I intend to study English and my teacher told me I speak a better English than some native speakers - isn't that something (what she didn't know was that I got a lot of my knowledge from JA fanfic... )
Maybe I'm not able to catch every colloquial language correctly, but I think I'm quite good at grammar and spelling and could give a different point of view as someone who didn't grow up with the language. I also could give my opinion of plots and offer some ideas.

Very much, I am usually into historical or regency settings, but, if the story is good modern P&P settings are my absolute favorite to read.

'Pride and Prejudice' and 'Sense and Sensibility' are my preferences but I am open to any of Jane Austen' works.

I am going to university and am getting my bachelor's degree in English and, if all goes well, later become a high school English teacher. I am good with grammar, spelling (though I do hope you would take the time to spell check), plot development, dialogue and story setting. As long as one doesn't ask me to write their story for them I will help you with anything you might need, within my power of course.
