Masters - opportunity to represent England at 10km

Following the success of the England Age Groups Masters Marathon which saw NHRR's Nick Malpeli running for England and achieving a national silver medal, England Athletics have announced the launch of a Spring representative opportunity over the shorter distance of 10k for affiliated club age group Masters’ runners.

The England Age Group Masters representative race will take place in the Simplyhealth Great Birmingham 10k on Sunday 6th May, 2018.

In order to qualify to represent England you need to enter one or more of the races below and finish in the top 3 in your age group whilst also achieving the qualifying time. All these races are popular and will fill up quickly so don't delay if you are interested.
Sunday 4th February – Chichester Priory 10k
Sunday 4th March – Trafford 10k
Sunday 18th March – City of Lincoln 10k
You also need to register your interest at http://www.englandathletics.org/masters-10k-2018.

To qualify to run for England you must:
Be a member of an affiliated England Athletics club
• Hold a current England Athletics competition licence (i.e. be a registered competitive athlete with England Athletics) at the time of the qualifying race
• Have pre-registered interest for selection prior to the qualifying race via the www.englandathletics.org/masters-10k-2018 link (athletes who have not pre-registered interest, but finish in the top three in the qualifying race will not be eligible for selection)
• Have achieved a minimum qualifying standard either in the qualifying race or within the previous 12 months
• Be available and fit to compete on 4th May

The qualifying standards are as follows:

V75 57:00 75:00

Age Groups Athletes changing age groups between the qualifying race and the representative race will qualify in their correct age group at the time, but will compete up an age group for Birmingham.

Please note the selected athletes are required to cover their own costs of entry, travel, accommodation where necessary. England kit will be available to purchase.
