What a fantastic way to start our division 1 campaign with 58 squirrels out racing last night.

So, the results are in ...

NHRR men - 3rd
NHRR women - 3rd
NHRR vet men - 1st
NHRR vet women - 2nd

WELL DONE EVERYBODY!

The full results will be posted on runherts.com.

Thank you so much for turning out to support the club. Roll on race 2 at St Albans.

Re: 1st midweek league results

Well done everybody!

Where are we overall Ellie?

Re: 1st midweek league results

I don't think they're on the website yet, John. The provisional results have been emailed out to the club reps. I assume they'll go up at some point today here: http://www.runherts.com/mwrrr.htm

Re: 1st midweek league results

Sorry - just to add to that -

The overall placing so far ...

Re: 1st midweek league results

Well done everyone. All of you ran superbly. A fantastic start. I don't ever remember us beating St Albans before.

Re: 1st midweek league results

Fantastic result! and so many made to long way south! thank you all - very good start of the season!

Re: 1st midweek league results

Fantastic start - I can't ever remember us beating St Albans before :open_mouth:

Glad we did eventually get there to be part of such a storming start to the MWL!

Re: 1st midweek league results

Hi Ellie,

I know last night's race was tricky with the hill etc but I didn't expect to age 4 years off the back of it.

I see my category as V40 and I'm 36 years old. Not sure if I have this wrong or am misreading it. If it doesn't affect anything I'm not worried but I'd hate for it to come out after us winning the league, having our title stripped from us and my mug being plastered on the back page of the Comet and being banned from ever competing again.

Thanks

Re: 1st midweek league results

Great result and thanks Ellie for passing me my number in the last few metres of the race!

Re: 1st midweek league results

Fantastic evening! The team spirit was great! Good to see so many make the trip. Sure other teams will strengthen for St Albans in 2 weeks so let’s make sure we do the same 👏👏👏

Re: 1st midweek league results

Re: 1st midweek league results

This was a run of many obstacles one that I finished wondering why i ever took up running!
A fellow NHRR stopped in the changing rooms to see if I was OK I must have looked a little not OK!
She took time to chat to me and make me feel better about myself and after a little ranting I looked back and laughed.
Yes my time was slow yes I was almost last but I did it! Despite the obstacles and mental block I had.
And yes I'll be there for the next one I just hope there are no bulls......
Great job done by all

Re: 1st midweek league results

Well done Hayley - you didn't give up, you kept going and you finished. That is a tough old course - be very proud of your achievement! :muscle:

Re: 1st midweek league results

Well done to you Hayley. You looked very strong coming up to the finish. All that training is paying off.

Re: 1st midweek league results

Hayley, you chose a tough one to start with, St Albans will feel much easier after this one!

Re: 1st midweek league results

Something’s gone wrong with the times, as they don’t match the finish order and I know James K was 39 min something... [edit: looks like a second batch of people were stated at 37 min who should all be 39!]

As an aside, will have to look up just how much flatter St Albans is; I knew yesterday would be too much for me... but you all looked to be enjoying yourself, and a flatter course *might* mean I could make it back before it’s dark.

Re: 1st midweek league results

It's not just about the scoring team however it's reallt good grouping up frony, goes to show the strength in depth we have!

Re: 1st midweek league results

Yes, Clare is right - the 39.xx finishers have had 2 mins lopped off our times.

Hi David. I'm sorry to bump you up to the next age category! It's probably just an administrative error. I'll let the results guy know, so he can correct it. Thanks for letting me know. Ellie

Re: 1st midweek league results

Fantastic team result that! Well done again everybody!

Look at Barnet, their guy won the race, but he had nobody behind him helping, they are bottom of the league. We had Squirrel after Squirrel, constant flow of support and awesomeness.

It’s a tight league in the middle of the league at the moment, we are ahead of some big clubs - but I think we can win the league if we keep the turn out as awesome as last night.

Well said John.... That was picked up last night without knowing the results that a Barnet guy won but had no one backing him up where as we must of done ok as the squirrels were constantly flowing over the finish line. Also people noticed the team spirit we had saying that we all support each over.

Re: 1st midweek league results

Just noticed that there might be an error with my time also, I have a 39:53 on my watch.

Hi Ellie, great job organising everything for yesterday. Like David, I'm surprised to be in a category above my age... I'm 49 but in the V50 section. May depend on the cut-off date as I'm not far away! Please would you check that for me?
Thank you.

Re: 1st midweek league results

What a great start, well done everyone!

Re: 1st midweek league results

Hi all,

I've emailed Paul, who produces the results, to correct the two age category errors and the 39 minute confusion. I'm not sure whether the results on the website will be changed, but it should be right for next time.

Let me know if you spot any other mistakes.
