England Athletics have just announced the qualifying races for selection to run in an England vest (you have to purchase the kit!) at the Simplyhealth Birmingham 10km on Sunday 12th May 2019. The qualifying races are the Telford 10km on 9th December 2018, Chichester Priory 10km on 3rd February 2019 and Aldi Chester 10km on Sunday 10th March. You need to finish in the top 3 in your age group, have met the qualifying standard below and pre-register your interest on the EA website. The qualifying standard must have been done in a UKA race in the past 12 months and be on Run Britain. All of these races fill quickly so you need to enter now if interested. Pete and I would be delighted to help anyone target any of these races. Andrew Leach achieved selection this year so with Nick having gained selection in the marathon it would be great to get some more squirrels in an England vest. Please don't hesitate to speak to us if you need any more details.

Achieved the qualifying time at standalone! Suspect the finishing top 3 part is probably tougher though
Exactly.....times are a bit soft, but the number of capable competitors in each age group that will be significantly quicker than qualifying time will sort the men from the boys!
(Or for PC reasons, the slightly older men/women from the slightly younger men/women!)
I’m 45 on 7th May of next year but I’m not sure which cat this puts me in for next year is it still V40 or V45?
Hi Helen, age category is on race day so you would be aiming for selection in the V40 category:)
