Here is the information for the mob match, where we shall be crowned as champions of division 1!
Midweek Road Racing League Mob Match Race 5
Garden City Runners assisted by Ware Joggers and Herts Phoenix are pleased to host the MWRRL Mob Match and Series Presentation on Thursday 11th July 2019 with details of the course and race HQ as follows:
Start Time: 7.45pm, maximum time limit 90 minutes, the first 5km to be comfortably completed by 8.25pm which is 40 minutes after the gun.
Location: The Ridgeway Academy (Sir Frederic Osborn School) (old GC10 HQ), Herns Lane, Welwyn Garden City, AL7 2AF
There are changing facilities and plenty of toilets some of which are located in the nearby Sports Centre. No dogs allowed on site.
Nearest station is Welwyn Garden City 1½ miles away.
Parking: The main Car Park is at Panshanger Golf Club/The Fairway Tavern AL7 2ED.
Parking for Garden City Runners, Ware Joggers & Herts Phoenix is at the Ridgeway Academy
There is also a free Public Car Park on Moors Walk AL7 2BQ and that is also the closest car park to the start for late arrivals.
The industrial streets of Swiftfields plus Watchmead AL7 1LY are available
Strictly no parking at the Sports Centre or the residential side streets close by.
See enclosed map for locations.
Start & Finish: The start is a 5 minute walk away and we all gather in the passage before Panshanger Drive for the race briefing. Do not go to the actual start which is around the corner. So the end of the passage is not the actual start (do not press the start button on your watch there). The passage is quite narrow and it is important to position yourself in the appropriate place according to the boards displaying expected finishing time. After the briefing the very fastest runners are walked around the corner to the start. The finish is on the field by the race HQ.
Distance: 10km Certified as Accurate 17/249(renewed 17/2/19), Race Permit ARC19/227 and conducted under the Leagues rules which state that headphones must not be worn.
Route: Mildly undulating lolly pop two lapper, see attached map, with two opportunities for water. All on tarmac except the final 100 metres on grass field, cycleways and pavement used. The course is open to pedestrians and vehicles so obey marshals instructions and run responsibly. There are numerous turns and in that respect we appreciate additional marshals (briefing anytime from 6pm to 7pm) plus helpers before/after the race. Do email the race director as given below, and thank you for your much appreciated support.
Refreshments: Complimentary refreshments will be provided after the race at the Race HQ prior to the presentations. To help ensure everyone has a fair share please supplement the spread by giving kitchen staff your contribution.
We look forward to seeing you at the MWRRL Mob Match and Series Presentation.
Any queries, please email Race Director Peter Harvey at firstname.lastname@example.org or call

Looking at the the final results, we have team and some individual prizes to celebrate too!
I'm unlikely to be able to run this one, so happy to do finish line duty if needed, otherwise I'll just go and shout encouragement!
Ellie, I take it we still need our numbers?
I didn't think I would be running it, so didn't keep number after Trent Park. But I'll be back in Letchworth for the weekend, so thought I'd pop along.
Do you have any spare numbers, or shall I make a homemade one?
I have two spaces free if anyone wants a lift to the mob match. Will be leaving Letchworth about 18:30.
I would like to run but have lost my number
Managed to miss every race with an injury after picking up a number but happy to tag along and claim some glory by association!
Shame no group photo last night with the trophy for the MWl
