NHRR Autumn/Winter workshops

After the successful first workshop this autumn about foam rolling, and based on your feedback from the survey, we are delighted to announce the following upcoming workshops:

November Thu 5th, 8:15pm, Sports psychology - smarter thinking in sport: covid and beyond
December Thu 3rd, 8:15pm, Garmin workshop - how to get most of your device and features you might not know about
January tbc but we are aiming at a sport nutrition workshop

These sessions are for club members, therefore please sign up on the forum under the appropriate tab , so we can send you a zoom invite via email a few days prior to the event.

November 5th 2020:
Sports psychology talk and workshop: Smarter Thinking in Sport: Covid and Beyond
Presented by Helen Davis, MSc PGCE CPsychol HCPC

There will be 45 min talk to address the below topics, followed but a 15 min Q&A session:
- Acknowledgment that everyone is emerging from lockdown and the pandemic from very different places
- Psychological challenges of Covid-19 from a sporting perspective from isolation to training to racing again
- Psychological ‘take cares’ - what to watch out for in your thinking
- Take away effective thinking strategies to help yourself and your mindset moving forwards

Garmin workshop: - how to get most of your device (Garmin or other) and features you might not know about
Presented by Jim McConnel

There will be a 30 min presentation of popular features that may or may not be new to you followed by a 30 min Q&A session
- how to best set you heart rate zone
- how to get Garmin to suggest a route for you (especially useful if you are of holiday or away with work)
